Hello all, I just wanted to share my chaos warshrine conversion, and to get idea for what to stick on his back...at first I thought I would stick some Reaper archways up there and dangle the prisoner cage that comes with the giant kit from it, but now I'm not sure. I'm really looking forward to painting this guy but it needs to be finished first! Any cool or novel ideas you guys could come up with would be much appreciated; I'm pretty much having modelers' block.
Also, I've been thinking of doing one of these (without the platform strapped to his back, of course) as a Kholek Suneater conversion, but I'm not yet good enough with epoxy putty to be comfortable modeling armour onto him. Do you think plasticard would look alright, or something else? Give me your thoughts on that too!
Thanks for reading!
DUDE!!!!! THAT IS EXTREMELY BADA**!!!!!! WELL DONE! rep.
awesome idea, does the giant box come with an extra head/arms/torso for this?

Excellent! More words wouldn't do justice to this conversion.
As for the Kholek armor puzzle, I'm not sure that plasticard would look that good. The armor plates on Kholek will need to be curvy, and multiple sheets of plasticard won't achieve the same look.
Maybe the carapace of some large Tyranid models could be used?
"How do you stop a Chaos Knight from charging? No seriously, HELP!" André le Bouffon, jester of the Bretonnian court - last words.
As far as the armor of Kholek, use multipul layers of green stuff with the edges pushed back to look like plates overlaping, also, the bottom half of a shaggoth and the top half of the mordor troll with some green stuff in the middle looks bang on, theres a post about it back in december I think...

Thanks for your comments everyone!Nope, unfortunately to do this you need a complete box each of the stegadon and giant kits. The cost would probably have prohibited me from trying this but I had a lot of trade-in credit when I started to purchase my WoC army.awesome idea, does the giant box come with an extra head/arms/torso for this?
I've seen the conversion using the shaggoth and Mordor troll, and huge props to the person who put that together, but I prefer to paint/model plastic when able, and I like the bulk of the giant/steggie combo. Coorran, your Tyranid idea is definitely something worth looking into; my local game shop generally has a healty amount of used 'Nid stuff in its bargain bin.
Any ideas what to put on him though? I've also thought about some sort of altar, but I don't want to scratch-build one because I want it to be suitably ornate, but everything else I've seen is too big (i.e. Reaper.) Anybody have a good source for smaller-scale fantasy models?
Wow I looked at the troll/shaggoth model and its great. Do those models come split at waist or do I need to find a way to cut them
That model is 4 shades of cool! I likes, i likes a lot. Did it take you long to make? Must've been an expensive conversion, what with the steggie and giant model...
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
