I am new to WoC and was wondering what everyone thinks of the Dragon Orge Shaggoth. I am trying to formulate some ideas for my army before I buy any of the models. Here are some questions I have about this beastie. What role does he play in your army, and is there a unit, or something else which could do his "role" better? What is your experience with using this guy, has he been successful, or a complete failure? What can the Shaggoth take on and what can't he take on? Also, How is he compared to other beasties in the warhammer world. Even if he is not worth his points I would still like to implement one in my army because I really like the model and he seems to be pretty tough. Thanks for everyone's response.
Used this guy once or twice, and he usually does pretty good. good at killing and is quite durable. Sometimes is the only model left on the table when things go bad! Use him for flanking the enemy and things should go your way
He's great. Can easaly handle most enemy things in combat. Problem is, his cost.
285, with a GW 275 with add hand weapon, 295 for both. WAY to expensive. In a 2k game he just eats your points, wich you could better use for knights, or something else. To bad but i don't think hes worth his points, and wont recommend him in a game under 2k.
He's a great monster. Good at getting the job done. His top quality is his ability to be armed after your own fashion. In a monster list, supported by other multiple wound, high T fellas, he's golden. 2 shaggoths, 1 Kholek and the rest trolls, Throgg and DOs and you give your opponent some serious headache.

my friend uses it in 1k and it is deadly. Sure it uses a lot of points but combine it with a unit of knights, 2 units of slannesh maurauders as anvils and a cheap character of your choice and he is brilliant as a hammer. It is usual to see a shaggoth in my store as most people use big monsters and a shaggoth is great against dragons, manticore, grffons, treemen, hydra or tyrants etc.
Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
