Has anyone here used a War Mammoth yet i was just woundering how it performed and what type of army's you have used it aqainst
also i was woundering what your thoughts on converting a Mumak from the lord of the rings collection with plenty of green stuff?
This is a War Mammoth by the way Chaos War Mammoth
"The next time I do fight,I'll make death love me; for I will contendEven with his pestilent scythe."Atony & Cleopatra Scene XIII
The War Mammoth is a very rare item. I seriously doubt that many even know about it, let alone tried it in battle. It's not immune to poison, so enough skinks with blow pipes could easily bring it down.
"The more choices you force the opponent to make, the better the chance for you to capitalize on his mistakes"
does anyone know where the rules for it are?
The rules should be on the FW website

Ive wanted to use one for a couple of years now and at the moment im trying to design a list around it and making plans to convert one using the mumakil as a base.
Like Mr Wayne said enough poison attacks will hurt it in the long run but then again you just put festus on top of it and give it regen or any nurgle mage casting the regen spell.
i have seen it been used, it's very destructive but not being able to march makes it kind of slow with only movement 6.
Please don't cut me at the knees short scary giner person with a beard.
I just read the rules for the Mammoth, it seems to be a correct unit. It's just too hefty for what it can do.
It only marches 6", but charges at 12", so its range is OK. The modes of attacks is very similar to the giant, except the D6+rank bonus S10 attacks, which can be devastating. Or not.
It is a must have in a game against O&G (lots of ranks, low Ld) but a big no-no against highly mobile forces.
My main concern is that a giant does a similar job for a lot, lot less. And he is a little more mobile. He's large target, he causes terror. His attacks are a little less devastating, but against regular troops, the results will be similar. And he can have ASF.
Hellcannons too, could do a similar job.
"How do you stop a Chaos Knight from charging? No seriously, HELP!" André le Bouffon, jester of the Bretonnian court - last words.
I have 2. One is a Mumak converted, other, well it lets say its wellllllll worth the $$!
I've used it in Hordes/WD/ and Warriors list, fun to play, deffinately opponents consent and now way legal without. But heck'uv alot of fun to play
Except for those blasted Skinks!!
Seems to me for the same cost you coulkd have some serious hitting power through the use of extra sorcerers a hellcannon and a giant. not worth the points, but fun and fluff-wise I'd says this gets an 11/10
