Welcome to Librarium Online!
Was just thinking about something the other day: If a chaos character kills a Bloodthirster does he get 2 rolls on the table since the deamon is a character AND a large target and we get to roll on thetable every time we kill a large target or a character.
Was just wondering this since i'll be playing a battle against mono khorne in 2 weeks.
it counts as one enemy so you only get to roll once, it would be like killing a bloodthirster if you could...
I serve my master and do as he wants. He wants the badlands, thus they will be his.

Also remember, just killing a character does not get you a roll, only killing a character in a challenge does. Although I suppose if you killed a Dragon and his rider in a challenge that would count as two rolls.
hmm how often do you guys see a roll on the EotG table anyway? i've only played up too 1k games and to be honest...i haven't even seen a challenge yet...
i keep hearing different things about this ( in my oppinion) really cool special rule that WoC has, some say the the fact that we MUST challenge makes it an annoying rule while others have seen lord become mosters because of a good roll, but how often do we actually get a lord into a fight, see him defeat and enemy character ( champs not included) or a large target, and roll something nice on the table?
any of you veteran want to shed some light on the situation? is this special rule just useless or do you roll on the table alot and see lords turn into semi demons?
I haven't seen it actually effect the outcome of a game yet. For three reasons.
1) It's pretty rare that it happens at all as you say.
2) If you're in that position you're probably winning anyways.
3) If you get into combat and kill off another character/large target and THEN you roll well on the table it usually means that the game is nearly over, you still have to get your character into another combat where his new power can be useful (in my experience when an opposing character loses a challenge it also means that their side is likely to break).
Since the warshrine makes it less rare to use, I have seen it change games.
Here's my philosophy on the warshrine. For its combat abilities you probably aren't spending much for the ability to give gifts out. Being T6 4+ armor 4+ ward, markable, WS5, S4. Its not overpowered, but it holds its own. If you throw a warshrine into a combat that's already happening, you can almost be certain it will add more combat resolution than it will lose you. The thing is just a b*tch to wound.
Now that I've said that, let me say this. The EotG is too random. You just can't count on it. Sure giving your 20 chosen stubborn and a 4+ save is nice, but its rare.
What does this all mean?
If you give out a roll on the table every turn from your warshrine and it doesn't effect the game what-so-ever, you really didn't waste much points. Its like take a scroll in a magic heavy army (meaning you were already bringing a wizard) and never using it. Its nice to have and you indeed wasted 20-25 points by bringing it and not using it, but that's fine by me, because it COULD have helped in a major way. On the other hand, when your chaos knights get a flank charge on any big unit and you roll a sweet +1 attack for the knights, you just changed the game in a massive way for your favor.
Oh and always mark your shrines with Slaanesh
I run a shrine as well. It's the only way to capitalize on the EoTG, and it also allows ALL of your characters to roll the table.
I have seen the Eye sway a tournament game. I used it to double-mark a regiment of 12 Chosen. They got +1A and +1Sv. They had the Frenzy banner, and Shields+Halberds. I rolled into the Dwarf genera's regiment with the BSB. I a massive 4, S5A, and a 3+ save. I challenged the Thane with my champion who swiftly cut the thane down with his 5A. The Dwarf had expected to be able to stand against a lowly champion, but he did not. I rolled EoTG and gained Fear on my Champion. I hacked down enough dwarfs to win the combat and outnumber, and the new Fear gained on my champ after the challenge, broke the regiment infront of me.
I don't think 1 model that casues fear makes your opponent test on snake eyes. I think the ruling is one unit of fear causers has to outnumber them. So things like if you out numbered them, but your numbers were from 2 different units and your opponent still out numbered either unit by itself they wouldn't need snake eyes.
But yeah, I've seen khorne chosen with extra hand weapons get +1 attack. 2 base + frenzy + 1 EHW +1 eotg. Thats 5 attacks a piece and 6 from the champion.
I must say, the rolls are rare enough that when I do get a roll for killing a character in a challenge, I usually forget about it...
"How do you stop a Chaos Knight from charging? No seriously, HELP!" André le Bouffon, jester of the Bretonnian court - last words.
I love the randomness of the EoTG so in almost all the WoC armies ive tested i take a Slaaneshi warshrine and a number of trolls. But Chossen with either +1 A or +1 Save boosts them amazingly and gives you a unit that can cut through almost anything.
On Characters however i have used the EotGs maybe 3 times in around 12 games, you either spend your time hunting the characters in order to get the roll or ignore it and leave your lord killing units.
