Can anyone tell me if the chaos lord on daemonic steed has replaceable parts for the hammer and the tentacles such as swords or a human arm?Cause I love the model but I hate tentacles on any chaos warrior and I don´t like my chaos lord using a hammer...
I've bought the model and I'm afraid there aren't any replacement arms. Yes, I thought the tentacle arm sucked a bit too, but I'm just going to paint it anyway and hope the shield covers up a fair amount of it. As the for the hammer, well, I hated it, like you, but I'm planning to give it to a dismounted model. Instead I took a lance from the knights sprue which resembled a halberd and hacked it off at the elbow joint and stuck that on instead. It's actually made for a really cool looking model.
But the answer is sadly that if you want alternate weapons or arms, you'll have to do it yourself because there are none provided. My advice is to look around with what you have and give him something that you prefer. After all, what with the new plastic kits, there should be plenty of stuff to use. Sorry I couldn't be more help, best of luck.
but if I have extra arms from the chaos warriors box or chaos knights box,can I stick them in the place of the darn tentacles and arm with hammer or do I have to cut both arms off first from the chaos lord cause they come glued in onto the dude...?
I also hated the tentacle hand so all that I did was file away the part on the back of the shield and then a little bit from the actually bulk of the model and then glued it close so that it covered up any small remaining part.
You could though if you wanted to file away the above and all of the bulk and fix a standard arm on to the shield but because of the way it fits to the remaining shield you will need to cut across the new arm so that it fits flat against the shield.
As for the other arm, (which i actually like), you could simply clip off the top of the hammer from the fist upwards and pin whichever weapon you chose in place. Of course if you chose to use a standard warriors arm for the shield arm you would be better off also completely replacing the weapon arm as well so that they match.
Overall you can do what you like just be prepared to do a lot of clipping, filing and pinning.
Hope that helps a little.
