With the constant rise of monsters in every new army book i was wondering what peoples thoughts on this weapon is. ive started taking it more and more with a hero on a juggernaught, with an enchanted shield for a -1 save and the Favour of the gods and tbh he hasnt diapointed. I usually have him with a unit of knights and the only let down i have is he lowers the monsters ive fought to uselessness and the knights finish it off and he miss's his gase of the gods roll but i prefer that and killing the monster than loosing all my knights in fighting it.
also a rule check is does he have to roll all his attacks at once or can i roll 1 at a time until he looses his stats? im guessing all at once as its 1 model but just ur thoughts.
The states are reduced at the end of the turn if he takes a wound so it doesnt matter. Even if you wound the monster, it will hit you back at full strength for that turn.
The stat reduction is effective at the end of that phase. Make sure the wielder of the glaive can survive till the next one to take advantage of the effect!
You either want to use a character that will be able to take the onslaught of hits that are going to be coming to him, or if you are suicidal and don't care for VP as much. You could always place the GoP on an Exalted Hero and fling him at the biggest, ugliest, meanest thing on the board, though he more then likely would die, but hey the beast/dragon/whatever is now S 2, T 2. Then heck even your mauraders could clean it up after the fact.
In my opinion, if I were ever to take it I would do the second one. Sometimes battles require sacrifices.
Glaive of Putefaction works well on Vampire Wright Kings. I can't always deal 3 wounds against his T5 and 2+ armor save which will be healed next round. But at least he will be as weak as a kitten and dead in 2 or 3 turns.
I play vamps a lot.....=P
Yeah the only problem with the item is it doesn't modify your strength. Str5 is nice, but a lot of big baddies have T6.
