Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys Im going to be using a level 4 nurgle sorcerer this weekend and I have thought of a situation that may be extremeley good if I am understanding this correctly.
So Like I said I am using a level 4 nugle and he has the puppet. If my enemy miscasts and the final result ends up being the one that allows me to cast a spell how is curse of the leper handled? Do I pick a unit like normal and they are at -1 Str/T at that moment? I only ask this because the spell states that the modifier will increase by one at the start of my friendly magic phase. So will the modifier drop to 2 on my magic phase. Reading the rules it seems like that is what should happen, but it just seems like a quick jump. If they dont stop that spell with Power dice, they are defenseless to getting a -2 modifier. Is my assumption here correct? If it is I think this is a very deadly combo to use.
And this should probably go in the rules section but you guys know the nurgle lore better than the public should. Move it over if this should be there.
That is technically how it should work... thats a pretty clever combination good on you for seeing it.
I believe you are correct, and I must say it is a very clever combination !
Definately worth testing out.
It does work that way, but its not as nasty as you think. If you keep the spell up you're wasting a magic phase (which means he can then just use those saved dispel dice to dispel it), so it'll depend on your support casters. How many flickering fires will you get off against that unit before you drop the spell.
On top of that, I'm finding it hard to not just pick buboes if he has no dice to dispel it, or just go big and take Rot, Glorious, Rot. That's got to do a ton more damage in the long run.
But if you don't have R,GR then this could be a nice alternative.

Well the whole reason I came up with this idea is because I was thinking about "what if" scenarios. Im going to run a level 2 Tzeentch and a level 4 nurgle so I asked myself, If I dont have gateway or RgR, what would I pick? Bubboes is only good if he has no dice left as it can even be taken care of with one at a decent percentage.
So I thought of this and thought it could be good. I would only really use this if I didnt have either of the other #6 spells or if they werent in range to do damage. I would probably only use it if I were already in combat with a unit to really gimp them. Im not shooting to kill a unit from range with this.
And can an opposing player use DD in my magic phase to dispel leper if it went off in his turn. I didnt think he could. He has to either dispell it when it is being cast (in his magic phase with PD in this case) or he has to wait to dispel it with his PD in subsequent turns since it is a RiP spell. I am right?
thats correct. He also cant use dispell scrolls.
I noticed this combo:
Take the leechlord, another wizard with the puppet and another hero with bloodcurdling roar.
You can cast the curse with the leechlord no matter what. If the other wizard gets it, he can cast it as well.
Toughness 2D6 strength 1 hits now wound on a 4+ no armour saves allowed.
