I'm currently reworking my list for my next game, and I'm having some trouble with the characters. Since all characters now must declare and accept challenges, it would be nice to have good equipment to fight them. So, do you know of a good choice of magic and mudane items for Chaos Lords and Exalted Heroes?
Take a look at some of the threads which were already posted, and i am sure you will find what you are looking for.
It's worth remembering, though, that our Characters are pretty darn powerful as it is - they probably don't need as much powering up as you might think!
* Axe of Khorne
* Mark of Khorne
* Favour of the Gods
= 230 points
Then put him in some Chaos Knights - nothing will survive the charge
This gives you 4, Str 6 attacks, Killing Blow, Frenzy, 0+ Armour Save and an additional 2 Str 5 attacks from the mount (not including Frenzy). You will also cause Fear making you also immune to it and have a magic resistance of 1.
It also gives you some choice when rolling for benefits after killing your opponent.
You certainly won't be easy to kill if they get to hit back.
A good hero on foot is:
-Axe of Khorne
-Mark of Nurgle
-Favour of the Gods
Put him in a unit of Marauders and watch him gobble up enemy heroes. 4 Str6 killing blow hits in a challenge, and your enemy hero is at a disadvantage because of the MoN.
A build i like:
Chaos lord of Slaanesh - 360 pts
COllar of khorne
Armor of morrslieb
Steed of slaanesh
Blood curdling roar
A good exalted hero could be a
Exalted champion of Nurgle
Personally, if I wanted a build like this, I'd use any of the other mid-end weapons (Aethersword, Rapier of Ecstasy, The Father of Blades, Axe of Khorne, Filth Mace or Rending Sword) before I used the Chaos Runesword.
If you use the Filth Mace or Rending Sword, you can also use either The Bronze Armour of Zhrakk or an Enchanted Shield. Your Hero only has a 2+ armour save; giving him either of those pieces of armour would increase his durability somewhat.
