Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys i'm going to a tournament in a couple of weeks and am running an infantry based army with a chaos lord in a chariot, throgg, and one scroll caddy. My question was, can i get away with one scroll caddy as magic defense against most armies as long as i'm strong enough in combat?
not in an infantry based army.
You will have to endure at least 2 turns of magic/shooting and I don believe you'll have enough left at the other side
Current painting project: 2300 pts of Dwarfs in 5 weeks.
It could be viable if you manage to fit in MR in your key units (but clearly not possible with a chariot lord and Throgg).
I'd say that's a n easy win for your opponent. Esp. if they have something called lore of metal handy with mild shooting.
Thats what i figured, just trying to use my most painted figures. How about 2 lvl 2 sorcerers with 2 scrolls and puppet, or 4 scrolls.

I wouldn't say your sunk, most lists only bring a single scroll cady where I'm from. Either that or 4 casters with max items. . . .
Its just a question of all in or minimal in.
Personally, I would be more worried about food sloggers and a lord on a chariot than how much magic D you have.
Depends on how many magic armies you are going to meet and it also depends on how you are going to tool your lord.
You could always give him a book of secrets and a diispel scroll. That will take you up tp 3 scrolls and an extra magic missile. But it depends on how you tooled him up.
It will be a fairly large tournament maybe 20 people everyone playing three games, so there is no telling what I will face. I have my lord equipped with runesword and crown of conquest right now, love having WS 9 especially with nurgle.
Thanks for the input guys, ive fine tuned my army and I think its ready.
