Welcome to Librarium Online!
Alight, I just picked up two of the battalion boxes for WoC to start an army, in my army book it says that the Knights are 40 points. Is that per model or per unit?
The army book explains all....

I'll take those vague responses as a 40 points per unit. Really though, thanks for nothing.
Dude! its per model...
As raziel said, it is per model. The game would be a tad bit too expensive if we had to field 2,000 point armies at 5 or 6 points per marauder unit
If I may make a few additional suggestions to help you along, I suggest you sit down and read at least every rule section in the army book, and also pick up the core rulebook (if you do not yet have one) and spend a few hours going over that. My guess would be that you are fairly new to Warhammer and the best advice I could give to you or really anyone at any playing level is to read and read and read everything until you know what you have and how it works. The rulebook is a little funny your first few reads. Things are not logically ordered (at all...) and the index is virtually useless, but this just makes it all the more important to go over the book a few times.
If you do your reading, you should have a lot of the simpler questions answered and have a good idea of what you want from your army. That's where everyone at LO can really start to help you out.
I hope all of that helps you out in the mean time, and good luck!

I see where the confusion is caused: For example, marauder horsemen are listed as 13 points/model, where the chaos knights are only listed as 40 points. As has been said, the knights do cost 40 points each, making a base unit of five cost 200.
That aside, welcome to the warriors of chaos!
Yep, yep, welcome to Warriors. This WoC forum has become one of the best fantasy boards on Librarium.
Still, it's best to read the army book first and then ask questions.
Two battalion boxes sounds like a lot of fun. Having all those models waiting to be put together. Of course, if you're like me, and some of them are still waiting to be put together four months later...
