Hail fellow Chaos worshippers,
I have two questions about Ogres in the WoC lists.
Do you use them? If the answer is yes: then how do you run them? What weapons do you favour, do you give them chaos armour and how many units/ what unit sizes do you use.
This one needs some explanation. I really like the character of the Ogre Kingdoms Maneaters sculpts (especially the Araby Maneater). But for budgetary and artistic (ha!) reasons I’m really really really tempted to use some greenstuff and try to sculpt my own using the plastic Ogres as base models. At the moment I have some ideas about what to include on these Chaotic Ogres, but I could always use more ideas. So: how would your ideal WoC Ogre look?

I feel like the ironguts models would look very well as undivided or khornate chaos ogres. the beat metal armor and giant weapons work really well with chaos.
I run mono nurgle, so if I ever add ogres id ad pustules and tentacles, maybe green stuff over their eyes and greenstuff a single eye over that area. perhaps, instead of adding the gut plate have intestines spilling out *rubs hands together* yesss yessss gooood
EDIT: as for what to add to the models, skulls couldn't hurt, and if you get a spawn kit that give you a lot of mutations you could glue/green stuff onto them.

I have always thought of doing some Slannesh ogres who self harm themslevs. Scars across there bodies, Gimp marks, Cut in tattoos into their bellies, spikes and whips. Gaudy cloths and lots of golden jewelery.
Either that or some Khrone ogres with big axes covered head to toe in gore. With a base littered with limbs and bones that the ogres have eaten sort of like gorgers.
I run a unit of 4 Ogres with great weapons marked by Slaanesh. After a few games with them I turned one of the ogres into a standard bearer and it's really helped them with their combats. I may get another unit of Ogres and give them additional hand weapons; when playing against Elf armies (which I do a lot) the great weapons are overkill and additional hand weapons would make up for their lack of WS.
I used the ironguts models, as most people do, and didn't really do much conversion work other than some of the skulls and chains from 40k sprues to mark out the champion and chaos knight shoulder pads, which work surprisingly well.
I have used Ogres in several battles against several armies, i find them lacking in WS and for the points in a WoC army it could be well spent somewhere else. Lossing a Special slot to ogres just tends to turn me off. Please do not take my point on them fully as i have friends who enjoy using them, but they also agree its for fun not for a hard list.
Ogres are great for taking out enemy gunlines/war machines. Take them in a unit of 4, with a champion to help soak up extra wounds, and run them across the board. Give them MoS to avoid panic checks, and you will reliably have 3 (at least 2) ogres to get into combat.
In situations where your enemy has no warmachines or missile troops of any consequence, they are great for protecting a flank. Their speed helps scare opposing footsloggers, and let's you maneuver them where you need them to possibly get off a flank charge in a new/existing combat. Very occasionally, the fact that they cause fear at US 9 or 12 will help you make a stubborn unit autoflee (white lions, witch elves.) I take some in almost every list I make, and most games I feel that they pull their weight. In my current tourney list, the only other special slots I have are knights and chosen, so I've got plenty of room for the Ogres.
Edit: Dont get me wrong shakedown, your idea is great, i only just realised that by warmachines you meant bolt throwers mainly as you play against darkelves often.
