I am getting ready to play in a high point team game. I am about to face a Lizardmen army and I have never seen or played against this army. I was curious what the WoC community has found to be important advice in dealing with them. What should I watch out for, what things might I need to plan for, and what components of our army match up well against them? I'll take this advice and try and build a complimentary list with my ally and post it up here. Got to be a little careful as I know my opponent also reads this forum. So if he is reading now...close those eyes.
Anyway thank you guys in advance.
He will DOMINATE the magic phase.
A second generation Slann gains an extra power dice every time he casts a spell. So when using two he gets three when using 3PD he gets 4. Add to the fact that Slann can channel through skink preists (use skink preists to cast slann spells) and you are in a world of pain.
He will probs be bringing a stegadon with an engine of the gods causing more magic offence. Cold one calvary pack a punch but are very vunrale from counter chargeing.
I would go with chariots and lots of them if you have the models (or can borrow them) as if you can attack first then you should win combat. Your opponent will probs feild about 1 or 2 units of saurus.
I would go chariots with blocks of warriros to hold you line. Maurader flank holders. The Stegadon is going to cause you problems but if you can use Horsemen or wolves to bait it so you can charge it. I would try and take at least 2 dispel scrolls and look out for lore of metal. His Slann will be very well protetcted and you will be unable to defeat it unless you are either really lucky or managed to attack the block from all sides.
I have been playing lizardmen for 10 years. With new army book lizardmen can be pain for WoC.
1. Bring a lot of dispel scrolls. Slann with metal lore can wipe out your whole army.
2. Don't attack Slann with temple guard. They are as hard as chaos warriors and are nearly unbreakable. Zoom around and kill other things.
3. Beware of Stegadons. They are tough and with engine, they will do a lot of problems. Engine = magic boost and deadly lightning at short range. Kill them with super tough and fast units. Dragon ogre shaggoth, Dragon ogres, charging knights with Banner of Rage etc.
4. Make a good army list, deploy smart and play without mistakes
With these four tips you will be respected opponent.
PS: I will field fast force. A lot of knights, horsemen, DOs etc. Don't waste your time. Fighting characters and sorcerers only for defence.

... try Czech language ;-)
pandaemonium and infernal puppet are going to be your key to success.
Thank you guys so far. For those of you that are playing Lizardmen regularly. How many Power dice should I expect to run into in a 4500 pt list?
I know that my partner (DE) will be bringing the Ring of Hotek into the mix, I will definatly be using pandemonium and the infernal puppet. I was also thinking about taking tendrils of tzeentch and the blood of tzeentch in my part of the list to really shut down that magic phase.
It's looking more and more like my contribution to my side is going to be hammer units so I am thinking about Dragon Ogres and Knights. I believe that our anvil is going to be a nasty unit of blackguards
I'm half tempted to try Kholek out. I doubt I'll ever get another opportunity to try him out
I'd be tempted to use vilitch as opposed to kholek
your guaranteed pandemonium and shoudl they fail to cast or dispel it makes you better
....OR....you could just run 10 units of marauders...yes...yes...that is my advice.
....You're going down!

Remember to bring your scroll caddies as well, as the engine of the gods promises a hefty magical threat.
Multiple sorcerers will also help you get spells through, as he will most likely have a decent spell defense.
If you feel like mixing your magic up, nurgle spells will be effective; buboes to get rid of his skink priests on stegadons, and the higher level spells to decimate his low initiative blocks and large groups of skirmishing skinks.
