I have a
chaos lord on jugger
chaos lord on chariot
chaos lord on a demonic mount
And I don't know which one to put in my army list!
Anyone got any advice?
I love the ideal of my Champion riding to battle mounted in a chariot. The steeds whipped into a fury by a trusted and talented master. They hot breath and the thundering mass of the solid construction bearing down on infantry and cavalry alike. Blades, scythes and hooves crashing down and goring the enemy. The solid ramparts deflection arrow and ball shot alike, while a dark miasma of energy envelops us to protect us from sterner offences of the magical and siege weapon variety. Truly it is the weapon of Princes and Kings, glorious and resplendent upon the field of battle, a source of fear and admiration in equal measure. Did not the great lords of the Khermi empire ride upon to lead their hosts? Do not the Druchii reserve their chariots for their greatest warriors? Note how the weakling men of the south dare not ride them, they fear the unbridled power and force they posses!
Jugger every time, same points cost as Daemonic mount but has magic resistance, +3 to armour save and is frenzied
Chariots are good but I wouldnt stick my lord in one, just in case an enemy strength 7 hit gets through and the chariot is destroyed, leaving your lord on foot and vunerable.
Jugger every time
Yeah, but it is the imagery, would you rather ride in style or on the back of a half mad deamonic machine?
For an all comer list, I vote for a demonic mount since you can still hide him in units, has a nice damage output and will not be chasing baiters half the time. Now if you know your opponent is not very good at baiting, the jugger yes.
Jugger, if i weren't in class, i'd write a long fluffy reason. Shortly though, it's awesome, as it can be viewed as a gift from khorne or such. And the magic res. goes well with Khorne.
"Scream your lungs out!"
Manorr Stormbreaker, the Silent - Lord of Khorne
This depends completely on the enemy and the rest of your list.
No problems with frenzie? Jugger!
Want the coolest model? Jugger!
Want an alround good option with a nice statline? Daemonic mount!
Need character to support another unit? chariot!
I'dd take the daemonic mount. You can convert him very cool and he is a good choise against alot of armies.
If you take the chariot, keep in mind that he will be shot at!
If you take the jugger, keep in mind that in some occasions your juggernaut hero will lured away from important targets.
Hope it helps.
Depends on the rest of the army and what role you want the guy to cover.
The general rule (in my opinion):
1) Jugger: relatively cheap for the saves and power it brings. Frenzy can be a problem if its the only frenzy guy in the army.
2) Daemonic: terror is nice. It can make an entire unit (say, Warriors) to cause terror, hence they would be immune to terror. Quite expensive though.
3) Chariot: hard hitting on the charge, very unstable investment. The chariot can and will be destroyed from under the lord, which then leaves him footslogging it the rest of the time. Which is bad. Real bad. It could work, theoretically, if the army is high on chariots.
Daemonic mount is safe to bring, Jugger can be baited, chariots will get destroyed (and baited if marked Khorne). Depends on your army composition and strategy really. Gonna need more info on those for more exact recommendations.
Currently building my poor-hammer WoC army.
daemonic mount is fear not terror
also it only gives +1 save as opposed to the +2 of a barded steed or the +3 of a jugger
The frenzy from the jugger can usually be compensated for and protected.
and as has already been said a chariot is a risk.
If the jugger getting baited away is an issue i'd go with a barded steed or a steed of slaanesh before I went with the daemonic mount. but my preference is a jugger and I pretty much always have one in my lists
Thank you very much for the information everyone has contributed, here are the units I have
C: 12 Warriors
C: 20 Marauders
C: 7 Horsemen
C: 5 Warhounds
C: 5 Warhounds
S: 15 Chosen
S: 7 Knights
I am finding it hard to decide what mount to put my lord on to fit in the army.
