Trying to build an all combat (some scroll jockeys of course) 2250 list right now and got to thinking, hmmm...what about Archaon? he's got some awesome rules but it's the 685 price tag that discouages me. I've had the model for a while and figured why not.
What do you think?
His worth boils down entirely on how you use him. Now if you're playing in a tournament he is a great points denial character (costing 685) if he doesn't die. But he also comes into the "putting all of your eggs in a basket case."
I'd make a case that he isn't worth the points simply because a normal chaos lord is a monster for about 1/2 the points. Put that lord on a dragon and i'd say he's better than Archaon for about the same points. Don't get me wrong though Archaon is a monster. A total monster. Test him out let us know what you think.
