I'm thinking about running a Chaos Lord on Palanquin once I get my army up to 2000 points, does anyone have experience using them? Are they worth the points? I'm going to use:
Mark of Nurgle
Glauve of Putrefecation
Armour of Damnation
Stream of Corruption
He'll be sitting inside a unit of Warriors or Chosen.
Also, what size bases do these use and does anyone have pictures I can use as a guideline for making mine? I was thinking about using the normal topper for a Lizardmen Stegadon.
You might want the crown of everlasing conquest on here, the regenerate saves really rock, and as for modeling, weve had this discussion before:
http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...o-i-model.html (WTF is a palanquin? and how do I model it?)
I'm still playing around with the items, but I'll definitely keep the Crown in mind. Is a Palanquin on a 50x50 base like a Disc?
It makes it so more models can attack him, you lose +1 armor save over that of a chaos steed and cost twice as much. You gain a bunch of str 3 poison attacks that probably won't help you in a challenge, but could very much help against certain rank and file.
The ultimate downer for me is its movement. You're so slow on top of that thing, you'll never engage anything with your lord unless your opponent wants you too and that's a bad position to be in.
