Welcome to Librarium Online!
Not sure if anyone remembers me but Ive been out of the game for a year and want get moddling and playing again this summer break. My reason for this thread is to simply ask if anything has been established as superior for WoC. Playtesting is more difficult and slower for tabletop than other games but after another year Im guessing something might be seen as an optimal build.
Have these gateway builds proven themselves? I left off and a lot of the top posters here thought lvl 4 tzeench and lvl 2 nurgle sorcerers were optimal. Has this held up? Anything worth mentioning to get me up to date a bit would be nice.
Our army is too stagnant to really change that much. What has worked in the past works now, but the new edition is coming out pretty soon which will shake up the game and lists completely. Better off thinking about the new edition than about now.
Magic will change in the new edition. So anything can happen.
The rumours right now say that the game will be more Core-centered, so I think cheap core that can hit hard might be the way to go.
I foresee our cheap WS4 marauders with great weapons will be mighty. They have a high WS (for basic Core that is) and great weapons. Many armies need Special choices for that.
We also have the amazing ability to make our Core choices very adaptable. Our Chaos Warriors with Halberds and Hand Weapon+Shield can be extremely good in all situations. This is old news for most, but we really have awesome Core Choices.
Magic will probably be more dangerous and more random. So if we can make it EVEN MORE dangerous for the opponent we might really mess up his Magic Phase.
