Welcome to Librarium Online!
i was jut thinking about a lord on a juggernaut with the following-daemon sword and collar of khorne.
is this a good set of magic items? and how do you use your lords on mounts? (i am just a little stuck as to how i would use this guy)
thanks in advance!
Not really, chances are he will kill himself, you would be better off with a enchanted shield for a -1 armour save, personally i dont rate chaos lords unless on chaos dragons, they are just so many points and when you stick them in a unit you have alot of your points in one spot that isnt really all that hard to deal with. Personally i think your better off with two exalted heroes.
Aye, if you're playing 2k then you might as well just get an Exalted Hero on Jugger. Our Exalteds are just as hard as most other Races Lords and are only trumpted by Ogres, Vamps, Orcs and maybe Lizards. Poncy Elves and Humans of any kind shouldn't be much trouble.
If you're Dead set on a Lord though a Daemon Weapon is a risky weapon indeed. Most combats he'll be smacking himself at least once so after 3 or 4 rounds of Combat he'll probably wound himself twice which is enough to kill him if the enemy have hurt him. I'd just grab the Axe of Khorne, the Runesword or a Sword of Might and then spend the rest of your points on keeping your boy alive. Rune Shield or Crown of Conquest are good at the job.
If you really want the Daemon Weapon. Grab an enchanted shield like Jim Suggested. This way atleast you'll be getting a decent save him you hit yourself at str8.
Indeed, Daemonsword is mean but hard to play with unless your rocking some sweet saves, which is hard to do since it takes up most of your points. Best case scenario you get a 12 on your first EotG roll, then you should be fine, but that's obviously very risky.
As a side note, and perhaps worthy of its own topic, but what to some of you guys plan on doing come 8th edition? An issue WoC has faced for awhile now is that the Lord level characters are really not worth their points in comparison to the Hero's, but as rumors currently stand come 8th we will only be able to put 25% of our army into hero's and if we want any more than that it will have to come out of the Lords 25%. For a character heavy army will you guys actually consider running the over-pointed Lords then? Or will the trend be just to max out on what Hero's you can get and then just have a decent sized army behind them?
Nevermore Chapter: 6200 pts; 97/49/11; Longest Streak: 9 Wins/4 Losses; Nearing Completion

Well you will find my planned Khorne list come 8th ed, need to figure out my Tzeentch list next, I think Filth Mace is going to very nice come 8th, Terror once you kill something which then adds +1combat res, chance to reduce enemy to WS+A1 and even a chance to break and run down without even rolling any dice, this is going to be amazing when combined with diabolic splendour and doom totem!
I start that topic not just to post my lists in but to see what everyone else had in mind and to talk general tactic's ideas.
Personally I only take a Lord at 3k. At 2k they just eat up to many points are you're generally better off with another unit or 3 more Chariots. Plus, lets face it, our Hero's can go blade to blade with most enemy Lords and come out even if not triumphant. So there really isn't any need to spend the extra 150pts getting the Lord.
At 3k though I always pack a Lord but thats purely for fluff and the fact that at 3k spending 300 or so points on one fella wont leave you lacking in other respects.
