So with the new horde rule and steadfast rules, how will you run Marauders (if you will run them at all)? I kind of want to run a unit of 40-60 because it would look cool and it follows fluff in books and stuff.
But how would you equip them?
LA+ Shield seems a waste because they have S3, 5+ save and the 6+ parry save
GW seem bad because they have T3 a 6+ save and then strike last.
Flails seem like the best option, +2 strength with the horde thats 30 WS4 I4 S5 attacks. pretty good. At least they will do enough damage to negate how many of them will die.
So what do you all think? How many to run and how to equip?

I think I'm going to run 40 and MoK. Still can't decide between flails and great weapons. I have a feeling, regardless of the weapon, they will be locked in for a second round of combat which makes me lean towards the GW.
I've been running 40 with light armour and shield. I've also given them nurgle which isn't much use in combat, but since its such a large unit it tends to soak up alot of arrow/gun fire so the -1 to hit helps to protect them. Remember no parry save against shooting so the Light Armour/Shield combo helps (unless the are armour piercing) In the games i've had with them they have been just fantastic, sure with only s3 they generally need 5's to wound but that hasn't seemed to stop them.
