Welcome to Librarium Online!
I've been trying to find in the book whether or not a Sorcerer Lord with MoT can take Lore of Death or not. Mostly just wanting the MoT so he can take the Disc of Tzeentch. It says sorcerers at level 4 may take from the lores Shadow, Death, Fire, or Heavens; but im not sure if with MoT if he MUST take the Lore of Tzeentch?
Tried finding it in the forums but couldnt. Thanks.
in the WoC book on page 119 under the Sorcerer Lord it says "if he has a Mark of Chaos, must choose from the Lore appropriate to that mark."
I'm guessing the Gods would not be happy with one of their servants not using their own magic.
Ok, next question though.... can a sorceror choose from the lore of tzeentch if he doesn't have a mark? The army book just says that if he does have a mark he has to take that lore. So to me it seems as though he can still take the lore even if he doesn't have the mark.
unfortunately no. You have to have the mark to take the lore.
If you are looking at combing the best of both worlds you could take an Exalted Hero with the mark of Tzeentch and the Book of Secrets. He gets the +1 to cast and the ward bonus but because of the book he has to take a spell from Fire, Shadow, or Death.
Another option would be a Tzeentch Chaos Lord with the Wizards Hat. This guy would get a random magic lore.
You could also have a unit of Chosen and give the Chosen Champ the Book of Secrets (Fire, Shadow, or Death).
