Theres a doubles tourney coming up in my area and I'm going to be playing with wood elves. He is mostly using Glade Guard and long ranged so I figured I would be close combat. I need a solid 1250 list that can compliment a ranged army, or atleast some units that would be good to use. Please reply

Combat resolution all the way. Wood elves suffer for not having many ranked units and those that can break ranks. Make sure to take blocks with banners and ranks. He's probably going to need help in that department.
He will probably have quite a bit of stuff which doesn't really charge the enemy so you'll need to decide: Charge up yourself against 2500 pts or stay back a little for you ally's support. I'd suggest caution in most cases and also to take some throw-away dogs and Marauder Horsemen to either harass gun-lines or slow down fool-on rushes.
Hellcannon might be fun. If your buddy is playing 30-40 Glade Guard that makes for one hell of a shooting phase.
Wood elves and Chaos is a weird matchup so you might want to get his whole list on here for more detailed advice. I also feel like there are a lot of sneaky combos to be had in this alliance. Consider comparing your magic to his items and magic. Make the most of this difficult alliance.
1) find a different army to ally with, cheap damn basterd elves!! well 2 ways to go about this: 1) marauders 2) warriors ----marauders will give the wood elf player the combat res to triumph in combat while wood elf shooting and maneuverability will whittle the enemy down --------warriors will destroy everything in combat --something the wood elf player will lack, and they are maneuverable so unlike the marauders, they can keep up with the wood elves /// i would do marauders if the enemy is leaning towards forest spirits, otherwise id go warriors//// if u are allied with wood elves, it will take some tactical planning and id reccomend practicing this first: use his wood elf magic to move the trees into position and make sure u hit the enemy ranked up blocks in the forests, this way they arent steadfast dont even bother with wizards, hes got it covered. good luck and whenever u get a chance, stab those elves!!!!
I would run 2 units of 30 Khorne Marauders with Great Weapons and Full Command (200 points each), 1 unit of 17 Tzeentch warriors (shields, musician/std. bearer), 1 unit of 5 Marauder Horsemen (throwing axes, shields, Musician), 2 Warshrines, and an Exalted Hero BSB (Tzeentch, halberd, Talisman of Preservation).
Exactly 1250. Run the Exalted BSB in the warrior unit and flank the warrior unit with the Marauder units. The horsemen can go wherever needed. Vanguard them towards enemy war machines. The warshrines travel behind the 3 infantry units to buff them.
Hopefully your Wood Elf guy brings magic. If not, you can drop the Talisman of Preservation from the BSB and give him a Book of Secrets and Collar of Khorne.
