Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was in the process of writing a campaign where id be the games master and i just was looking for advice on running it. This is the first narrative campaign that ive run, and our store altogether has run so Im just looking for ideas. Here's wut ive got so far. Everyone from GW village crossing stop reading to avoid spoilers!!! Every player in the campaign received a short back story of about 2-3 pages about the army he is commanding. In it, it discusses their motivations and wut they need to do to win. the setting is in the empire city of nuln. every player knows only a fraction about the story. the first empire player thinks that he and his empire ally must defend the city of nuln from a skaven attack. the second empire player is secretly chaos worshippers that is waiting for the rite time to betray his empire ally. the skaven invader thinks that he is invading nuln for a warpstone reward... his clan is growing in power and if he takes nuln, the council will reward him warpstone...the one thing he needs to topple the council...wut he doesnt know is that the other skaven player is sending him to his death becuz his clan is to much of a threat and nuln will surely destroy him(but the daemon king of nuln secretly wants nuln destroyed so he has a chance of succeeding)... at the same time a vampire counts player knows that a huge battle will take place and is waiting for the corpses to pile up so he can raise a massive army and invade to conquer nuln and the empire as a whole// at the same time a tzeentch chaos warriors player knows that nuln is ruled by a khorne daemon king and wants to seize the city from khorne before the khorne daemon conquers the city of nuln and at the same time, not tell the nuln defenders cuz the khorne daemons are at least weakening the city/// at the same time, a lizardmen player(my little brother actually) is travelling the land believing a prophecy from the old ones predicts a great chaos incursion--their travels ironically take them to nuln where they believe there is more to it than a simple skaven invasion//////// phew, sorry for overwhelming u guys with wut ive got, but im now asking u for help: Where do I go from here? Am I on the right track? Will this be to hard? Know that I am not playing in the campaign, just running it. Tell me experiences you have had with your campaigns. Hopefully this can evolve into a campaign forum where every1 can go to ask questions about campaigns. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
Alright, I'm not trying to nitpick you or anything, but you should probably run yourself through a spell checker before posting. It would help us to understand what you've typed. That, and remember your rules- paragraphs and line breaks make things more clear. I'm not trying to be a jerk- this will honestly get you more replies.
Also, why did you post this in the Warriors of Chaos section? There is already a section for discussing campaigns. It's actually called "FB Campaigns". You can find it by clicking the link below.
The FB Campaign Section
As to your campaign, I might be able to help. When you get to that section, you'll find a thread that I put up a little while ago that is meant for people to be able to read through and get ideas for running a campaign. Granted, it's mostly about map/territory campaigns, but it has a little bit of info for the Narratives that you're running, as well as some good ideas for events and effects. Yet another link:
Captain's "Tactica: Campaign Writer"
Go read through the second thread, and then re-post this exact thread in the Campaign Section (not in the tactica thread). That way people will see it and respond to it there, and we can actually discuss campaigns. I'll be sure to keep and eye out for it, and I'll give you some real help. Looks good so far though.
Thanks for the advice. I'm new to the forum and didn't realize there was a campaigns section already made. Also, the link was very helpful. As for you being a jerk, nah, that's what a forum is for. Nitpick everything I write. It's the only way for me to improve. How do I give you a rep?
Just click the little "Sheriff Star" at the bottom of the post, right beside "Blog this Post".
