Welcome to Librarium Online!
I had a dark idea today. It goes against all odds .
Do you think it could work?
The thought was, to get a lvl 4 wizard with the puppet. and perhaps one exalted with the book of secrets + power familiar.
Now I have 2D6+1 power dice. And then cast the big spell (the one that could change the tide into your advantage) with 5/6 power dice hoping to get a double 6.
This way, the opponent isn't able to dispel it. And you're sure to get it off. Then for the miscast you use the puppet to change it into something better.
For example, with the lore of shadows, at range.... first cast the signature spell to get D3 off the badest unit (that big unit of bloodletter with the skulltaker in it), in my experience most opponents let this spell go off to save dispel for the scary spell. So now the initiative of the bloodletters will be 2 (on a average). Then cast pit of shades with 5/6 dice. The change of a double 6 are high. Then every model must pass the Initiative test and dies on a roll of 3+.
What do you think of this idea? please let me know.
thanks in advance,
im sorry i dont get what ur idea is
it sounds like ur idea is to just change the miscast roll with the puppet
the puppet is suposed to change the miscast, we dont just take it cause we think the sorcerer might get bored out there on the battle field and play with his toy puppet
oh and btw the slaanesh no.6 spell is much better than pit of shades, infact its probably the most deadlyist spell out there (every model in the unit must take a toughness test or loose a wound)
there is also an arcane item wich any roll of a double is irrisistable force
but yea what exactly was ur idea sorry
Yeah I don't see the complex delivery needed. Just throw 6 dice at a spell if you feel it will be a game changer. You should have the Puppet anyways and if you roll a Cascade, sure change it to something less damaging. Pretty simple tactic.

okey, okey ...... relax.
Well, for me it's something I normally won't do, I mostly don't take the puppet because there are better items IMO. Didn't know that this
was the normal set-up here.
p.s. didn't said it was a difficult tactic.
As far as the lore of slaanesh. Yeah that spell is hard. But most opponents I face are armies with a lot of T4 units. Dwarfs etc. Then it's better to have the pit of shades because of their initiative of 3. And the spell of slaanesh isn't capable of bringing down big threats like giants, hydra's, steam tanks.
But okey, I hear ya. Nothing new then.
try taking lvl 1 with black tounge if your figting lizardmen or vampires notthing is better than watching your opponents face when you puppet his slann to a dimensional cascasde and he takes half his temple guard with him.
Yes!!! ...stupid Slann - they deserve it.... Ha!
Yeah, that black tongue idea sounds so good against Slann until you find out he has that stupid item that transfers a miscast to your wizard...
Screw the spray gun. I paint my own models!
I do like the idea of combining Miasma with Pit of Shades.

Fear me, mortals, for I am The Anointed, The Favored Son of Chaos, The Scourge of the World. The armies of the Gods rally behind me, and it is by My Will and by My Sword that your weakling nations shall fall. - Archaon, The Everchosen, Lord of the End Times
Miasma is just a broken spell. That's all there is to it. As Warriors, we can mix it with Pit of Shades, Curse of the Leper, or Ecstatic Siezures, and all of these can kill a unit outright. Curse is the best option of course, as it simply destroys the regiment in question, but the others work well also.
I'm another one who doesn't take the Puppet all that often. Yes, the whole idea is pretty good, and also pretty common, but I never saw much value in it. If you miscast, take it and eat it. I was horrified of the new miscast table until I got a good look at it. It's not so rough that we need to be taking up 25pts to save our own skins. As for enemy casters: find another way to kill them. 25pts could buy a shiny sword or another pair of warriors for my army.
