Hiya fellow Warriors!
I've sort of come up with the idea (maybe someone else thought of it too), to use the Warrior Priest model for a conversion.
So my 2 ideas are:
- Chaos SorcerorSo the idea for this fellow is to swop the head to make it more chaos, and remove the hammer head and put a chaos mark or the likes on it, to resemble a staff.
- Exalted ChampionThe idea for this guys is to make him an Exalted with the Book of Secrets (book already on him ), and fit him with a Halberd.
Now for my questions.
- How big is the Warrior Priest compared to a normal warrior (if he's smaller I think a sorcerer could still work)?
- Is the head seperate?
- Will this work?
I am fairly certain that the head is attached but it should be easy enough to clip off. The model should be a tad smaller than a warrior model so sorcerer could be good. I think it could be a good conversion if properly cut and made. The only gripe I have is that I hate this model. His hands look like Mickey mouse gloves.
Well I could just cut off the gloves too, and replace them with some bare hands (if sorcerer), or some gauntlets (if exalted).
But I think I'll pick up the model on tuesday (unless it's a mail order blister, I don't know really.) and I'll keep you updated.
those are nice ideas.
and i;m thinking of doing the same! you see, a friend once gave me this model and i never got around to actually do something with it so..
the model is in 2 pieces, the main body and the hammer. i'm not sure clipping the head off will work (cause of the neckbrace thingy..) other than that, it will take some serious converting i think. mostly stuff to make him look more evil and rugged..
hope this helped!!
ohh and please post some pics to show uss the final result!
Cheers martijn for that very useful info on the model.
Yeah, I'm acutally thinking of cutting the neckbrace off aswell.
I'm gonna add marks and other chaosy stuff, and add some spikes to the armor aswell.
I will of course post pictures of the final result
no problem man ^^
but erhm, i dont think thats gonna work, the neckbraceis are rather untoucheble on the sides and are to get to on the back (because of the schoulders and the fur on the back)
your ideas are great, what kind of marks were you thinking of? the easiest would be slaanesh i guess since you wouldnt need to make the clothes look worn and dirty...
I have this model in my Empire army. Those twin tailed comets are solid, you'll need to get rid of them.
Rather than cutting the head away, you could just file down the comet on his forehead and give him some horns or something. Little tiny horns like the Warrior unarmored head wouldn't be difficult. Giving him some from the Warrior Helmets wouldn't be difficult, but you'd have to use GS to blend them into his skull.
The hammer would be cool to just leave there, or make into some kind of scary weapon. He's holding it in a bit of an odd pose for it to be a staff. Up to you though.
And yes, he's a wee bit smaller than a normal warrior, but so are many of the old metal Chaos characters (I'm thinking my Nurgle Exalted here)
true, that too.
maybe make the hammer some kind of 2 handed sword just with a long handle, sort of like the nurgle exalted? maybe that'll work
anyway, this is gonna be really hard man! really, maybe this model just doesnt have it to be a chaos warrior..
Thanks both of you..
I'm really looking forward to working with this now!
Good idea with the horns for his original head. I might do just that.
I'm thinking either Tzeentch or undivided really.
Could make the hammer into a halberd and use him as my Exalted on a disc with the Book of Secrets.
