If you were a sorcerer, who wasn't mounted, and there were no marauders in your army, which kind of unit would you like to hang out in? MoT warrior anvils? MoK hammers?
Well it would have to be a warrior or chosen unit. I would throw it in a unit of Tzeench anvils.
Whenever you deploy, you should be making plans for what each of your regiments will be doing.
We don't have the resoures to just have a regiment of 10 Marauders standing around to act as a bunker for our Sorcs. Our casters are extremely well armored though, so they can actually hold their own in a line regiment. I put them into units that I know probably won't be seeing as much action as the rest of the army, or as much interaction with enemy characters or giant nasties.
Sorcerers are pretty hard, I've had them stand toe-to-toe with enemy Heroes and win the combat hands down.
Sounds like what I was thinking; my MoT anvil unit is not a good place for my mages. Too easy for them to get gibbed while the MoT's eat White Lions and Executioners.
I don't mind them in my hammer warriors with MoK. My shadow lord can bounce around, and I usually take a feedback caddy with third eye cuz I love that scroll. If things get hairy, I just pop my lord out and toss in my level 1. He can take hits, and if he dies... meh.
