Someone asked me to put some pics up of my Forsaken Conversions so here they are, well some of them anyway. Seeing as I'm putting pics up, Anyone else have any conversions of Forsaken they want to share? I could do with some more ideas
If anyone doesn't get what I made them from they're made from the old Chaos Warrior Plastics and the old Mutations sprue which you can still get from GW Bitz. The fella on the right, his left arm and head are Green Stuff.
I haven't started on forsaken yet, the Gods know I still have 2000pts worth to paint first, but I've been eyeing up components from the 40k Possessed sprues [mostly the arms and heads but some legs and chest details look perfectly transferable to a WFB look] mixed with leftovers from my chaos knights and warriors
ghast! I cant wait to start on them, really need to get over this painters block XD.

That seems like a great idea! I really dig some of the components on that sprue. I've been looking for some wings to convert a Valkiya, HMoK. Reaper miniatures makes a "creature components" box as well (Reaper Miniatures :: OnlineStore) . It's a bunch of claws, horns, tentacles, etc., that would be great for some forsaken. I know some people shy away from using anything but GW parts.... still....
I did find a site that made a load of Female Models with wings that would be perfect for Valkya. I'll have a dig around and see if I can find them again. I even got a nice female model thats perfect for Sigvald from one of those sights. Freebooter miniatures I think. Oh, Arcane Miniatures I think it was called.
David: That seems like a good idea. I was tempted to use those parts myself but found all those old Warrior bits in a draw, in a barn.....I've no idea how they got in there! So I used those. alot of those parts have pipes and cables on them so i'd be a bit careful when you start using the peices. Especially some of those arms which are blatently warped Power Fists. The chest peices would be cool though! Mus them up with some Chaos Knight Arms/Torsos/Shoulder pads and you'll be laughing!
The chaos spawn sprues have lots of cool mutant bits,
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
That's some great inspiration, Borak. I've been thinking along the lines of converting some of my old Chaos Warriors to forsaken as well, if nothing else you got to love the irony there. I like 'em!
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
Yep- old Warriros models were uuuuuuuuuuuuugly. This is a good use for them though.
I'd be more inclined to use Borak's Mutation sprue rather than the Possessed sprue. Aside from the clippers, those legs and bodies aren't compatible with the Fantasy legs and bodies. They're socket joins, rather than the flat surfaces that we get in fantasy. I wish they'd do away with that, so we could get some really nice poses in our models, but atleast it keeps our models from being too chunky.
And say what you want- but I used the Dark Elf sorceress from the Avatars of War site for my Valkia model, with some old Warmaster dragon wings stuck to her back, and her staff replaced with a spear. I can't post a link to her here, because she's not wearing enough, but she's still a pretty awesome model considering how beautiful they say Valkia is. I still don't buy into the whole "Bloodletter legs" idea, I prefer my Warriors to still look human, which is why I play Tzeentch and don't use Forsaken.
I've only got another 20 old Warrior Models. I'll have to use them wisely! That old Banner Top was/is cool though. A big, big Chaos Star.
Sarathi. That model sounds cool. Can you PM me a link?
