Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey folks, I can't find another thread that would help with my questions, so I will just put them all in here and hope that this thread will held flesh out my fledgling WoC army.
First off, I had a real bad day. It was very windy and the wind picked up a few of my miniatures and blew them into the road. And so, one of my spawn got crushed by a car but is salvageable. One beastman (i use them as marauders) got obliterated and i only found the body, and one of my friends minis that I painted for him got utterly obliterated and is nowhere to be found.
To repair the models I picked up a box of the new beastmen gors, used some spare bits from the daemon prince kit, and used some painting and modeling techniques to hide the damage. But no matter what its still a pain in the arse.
Though not really a question I am just so ticked about it I need to vent about it. Any modeling tips for mutations and such on damaged miniatures would be great.
Second point would be, how many people out there use beastmen as counts as marauders? I normally field a unit of 50, the marauders i do have, have great weapons modeled on them and the filler beastmen have hand weapons (most of the beastmen hand weapons are fairly large as is and is not unthinkable to see them as big 2 handed axes) How acceptable would this be in a less casual setting? Seeing as the entire unit is modeled 'correctly' with loose interpretation, as you buy the great weapons and they still retain their hand weapons. The paint scheme and basing is also the same so really one would have to be a bit of a stickler about it, but I want some more opinions.
I will have more questions and updates on my army as this thread progresses (hopefully)
"one of my spawn got crushed by a car "
See thats why i use the fully metal spawn, just in case it blows out the window and a car attacks it, my spawn will destroy the car instead.
Next time the wind picks up anything, make sure your windows are closed!
I like your idea on having Gors instead of marauders. They definetly fit the theme and they also look better than marauders (less wimpy).
Anyway, a few years ago beastmen went on just fine with chaos warriors. This is coming from one who plays friendly tournies only though.
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
well it wasn't from a car, i was litterally walking with my miniatures in their box to the store and the wind picked them up and then crunch.... yea...
Gors look pretty sweet. I think that as long as they are GW models they should pass in most games.
5000 pts of WoC, 5000 pts of Orcs and now 3000 pts of Ogres...What was I thinking ????
they are chaos models, they are on the correct base size, and they have the appropriate weapons.
The spawn is now fully repaired with minimal effort and the broken beastmen was repaired with spare marauder bits.
