I played a High Elf player once who had terrible luck against the puppet. He started with a lvl 4 with the Book and a lvl 2. By turn three they were both lvl 0.

Good morning .
How can I deal with war machines, and actual monsters, please ?
Thanks in advance .

Warmachines: Dogs, Marauder Horsemen, you could use an Exalted on a Disc.
Monsters: Which one? Knights with the banner of eternal flame. A Giant marked with Slaanesh. A brutal killy Lord on mount (I'd pit the GW, Tal of Pres, Armor of Damnation on a daemonic mount against just about anything). Initiative testing spells. Glaive of Putrefaction on an exalted on disc.
I will drink your milk shake! I will drink it up!
I just bought my wife a mini-van, the gods of Chaos have nothing on reality.
Im starting up a Chaos Warriors army, my questions are:
- How good is the Lore of Tzeentch? Im prob gunner take it reguardless of what you say coz im a big Tzeentch fan, but id like to get sone insight on it.
- What is the most effective way to take a unit of chaos warriors? Looking for cheep and effective units.
- How important are chaos hounds for screaning? Are they a must have?

Tzeentch lore is ok if used well it can be a good law. It has a big spell that will draw out scrolls or lots of dice and also has pandemonium which IMO is a brilliant spell. Stick your caster on a disc so he's difficult to catch and it should work well.
Units of warriors work well 6 wide three deep so 18 guys. Personally I go for full command. If you are using tzeentch shields are obviously the go to option however you won't deal out much damage. If you want to add in damage keeping the tzeentch theme halberds and the banner of rage work very nicely.
Personally I don't ever use dogs and don't have issues because of it. If you aren't taking any frenzied troops hounds aren't that useful. Have a look around for tactics of redirecting there is a good article on bell of lost souls which is a little old but still a useful article. If you don't want to bother with redirecting you can ignore hounds tbh.
If you take tzeentch and shields I would definitely take two warshrines as you can beef up your units so they are more effective. Shrines also allow you to bump the units that need it at the time. It can be hit or miss but has a lot of advantages.
Would be nice to see a list if you have a rough idea of one.
Hope that helps.

I was thinking of starting out with:
500pts -
Chaos Sorcerer (125)
-Lv1
-Spell Familiar
-Favor of the Gods
-MoT
25 Chaos Marauders (145)
-FC
-Flails
5 Chaos Knights (23
-MoN
Sorcerer - Nice and effective spell slinger, Favor added coz i had 5pts spare. He sits with the Marauders.
Marauders - Effective block of core.
Knights - MoN makes them hard to kill with anything other than magic or cannons, anything that fails fear wont be able to hit them.

Nice little list. You may have issues with challenges as the sorceror will have to challenge and has little protection. The marauders should make a mess but are fragile. The knights should cripple anything they hit. Looks a good 500 pt list. Warriors are very hard to do at such a small points level. Let us know how it gets on. Also if you have 5 points spare a sword may be better than the favour or even a charmed shield for a little protection in challenges.

Aye it's a good little list. Knights are a bit risky at such small games. If someone brings something that can take them out (magic or something) you've as good as lost. I'd probably swap them out for something else. Horsemen for speed and then more Marauders. If you want to keep them Ditch MoN and give the Marauders MoK as they'll benefit from a mark more so that the Knights. I'd also drop the Marauders down to a 24 man unit so you can run them in a 6x4 formation.
Oh, I'm not sure what you're mates say but there is a minimum for 3 units in an army (not sure if Dogs count) and it's a pig of a rule for warriors at such small points levels. Otherwise, MrCommissar has said the rest![]()
NEW Projects - Toys 'n' That
OLD Projects - The Vengeful Horde (WoC), Da Iron Gob Tribe (Orcs), The Thalheim Road Wardens (Empire!)
Yeah down at my club we allow the hero to count to the 3 units rule, otherwise our ogre players would be hard pressed even further.
