Army books trump BRB. Eye of the gods roll of a +1 armor specifically stats you get +1 armor to a minimum of 0+.
To me that means I can very easily have 0+ knights and heroes running around the board. Happened last week. Turned a roll of a 7 into a 6. Told my opponent the books says I can go down to a 0+ and he said okay without the hint of arguing.
Am I wrong is reading the rules this way?
The book says it's cool, but rolling a 1 is always a fail on an armour save isn't it?
I always thought that EotG was the only way you could get down to 0+, and that in effect, means that your enemy needs str 6, or str 5 plus armour piercing to raise it from the real roll (which is realistically a +2save).
That's a nice save bonus to have if you are going toe to toe with Mo, MI, MC or any muscle-brained thug.
Giant Blade huh? well that will reduce me to a +3 armor save ::clap clap clap::
Sona si Latine loqueris.
0 + armor save sounds right to me... Just ask those Empire players that have special items that give the same benefit. Besides, with most attacks beginning to occur on the north side of STR 4 (like Ascendo referred to) a 0+ armor save can easily become a +2....
5000 pts of WoC, 5000 pts of Orcs and now 3000 pts of Ogres...What was I thinking ????
+0 is legal but you wont need it on knights for most army's, i find it best used on warriors with halberds.
I always target my knights, unless my warriors are in a losing fight. Handguns , elf bolts and the alike all can wound knights easily and bring their save to a 3+. A 0+ isn't the greatest roll for knights, but in these situations is could be the best hoped for.
So looking for the 2+ over the 3+.
