I am thinking of bulking out my special choices as I only own knights and Dragon ogres at the moment. Due to cost I cant afford to buy a unit of each, so I need to choose. Which would you guys recommend I go for?

This subject has been under discussion a few times before, I recommend reading the threads from earlier this fall about this subject. It IS a very interesting topic though, and it might do well to be discussed again.
This is my answer: Trolls are great, but they need (badly) to be within 12" of your general at all times, and preferably within 12" of a Battle Standard Bearer as well. This is of course in order to reliably succeed their Stupidity test each turn. If your army is built in a way to allow the general and bsb to keep in the vicinity of the Trolls and still fulfill their roles, go for Trolls. A unit of six is optimal IMO because they need to be able to hit back hard in close combat after your enemy has had their way with them. And they can keep accumulating Eye of the Gods rolls longer in a larger unit. CONVERSION TIP: buy 2 boxes of river trolls and 1 chaos spawn box and kit bash them. You can still make 2 spawn, even after using a lot of the bits to convert the Trolls. I can upload pictures of my own Trolls done this way if you wish!
Ogres are more independent. I don't own any myself, but they seem allright. It's easy to upgrade them too much though, I think. I would go with Great Weapons since they'll almost always strike last anyway. With their amount of attacks, it's fantastic to have str 6. To make them even more nasty you could of course give them Mark of Khorne, but they'll probably do about as well without it. Slaanesh would be a cheap and effective mark for this unit, considering their lower leadership. Chaos armor is probably worth it, but I'm not sure. I would use a unit of 6 for the same reason as for the Trolls, they'll strike last so they need some resilience in order to win the combat even if one or two of them die. Whatever you do, be wary of costs. I would probably not take any command upgrades at all - not worth the points.
