So if a unit of say Chaos Knights with MoN charge a unit who then fails their Ld check. The unit whill have its WS reduced to 1 by the fear, then to 0 by MoN, thus resulting in not being able to attack, and being hit automaticaly by 2 S5 his and a S4 hit (mount) per Knight.
So my questions are:
1) Am I right in my theroy here?
2) Why has no one elce considerd this in the lists iv seen? Theyv all gone with MoT or MoK..?
And if I have a Sorcerer with a lore which can reduce their Ld, or make the knights cause terror against fear causing foes, I can increace the chance of the Ld test failing.
Is there a banner a BSB can take to reduce Ld? Il take one!
Doesn't work that way. Nurgle reduces enemy weapon skill by -1 to a minimum of 1, nice try though.
MoN is best used on units that are facing enemy with equal weapon skill, or one point higher, or for making AHW warriors a bit more hardy. It's expensive for what it does though.
MoK is awesome since it makes you immune to Frear/Terror/Panic, and you get a bonus attack off the front rank.
MoT is even better since it stacks with other ward saves like Parry, Magic Resistance, and Iron Curse Icon.
MoS is overlooked a lot, but could be very handy vs. armies like Vampire Counts or Tomb Kings who rely on Fear/Terror tests and it's also the cheapest.
There is a banner that reduces leadership, Doom Totem - but your BSB won't be able to carry any magical items. The spell Pandamonium from Lore of Tzeentch is also good for ruining leadership. Doom Totem/Tzeentch Magic/Hellcannon can make life very bad for Skaven/Empire/Goblins, everyone starts to panic and if they flee over each other it can create a charin reaction - awesome if you get a hallcannon shot across the flank of their entire battleline.
Be aware, Fear is no longer as good as it used to be.

I don't recall anywhere saying nurgle reduces to a minimum of 1. Just checked the FAQ and this is what it says:
Page 110 – The Mark of Nurgle
Change the second paragraph to “A model with the Mark of
Nurgle is difficult to target. Ranged attacks that target him are
at -1 To Hit. Models that target him in close combat are at -1
So, I'd say they get WS0 to attack you (which means they fail), but when you attack them they are WS1 still as nurgle has no affect at that point.
Where it is really good is against units with one point higher like you mention (from 3+ to 4+), or against units that fall below half our WS (from 4+ to 5+).
About the OP:
As Pinkus said, we won't auto hit them, as MoN only works when the opponent strikes you (think of it as a purely defensive Mark).
It looks like they will have WS 0 when they hit us, but I cant find the exact rule saying that you auto miss with WS 0.
Page 4 of the BRB states that you get hit automatically if you have WS 0, but nothing about attacking. I would tink that it's an auto miss, since WS0 is not on the 'To Hit Chart', but can't find the rule.
I guess this is because Stuff that have attacks on its profile generally can't get down to WS 0. The Shadow Hexes stop at 1 for example (which could result in the same situation versus normal non-fear MoN warriors by the way).
Ah, I was checking the old erata from Feb2009 - so we CAN reduce to WS0 very nice.

Im probably reading this wrong but thats how i see it.
Feel free to add me, but message that you're from here
Its unclear really, 6s do always hit and BS0 means you can't shoot, but you can't really use the BS argument for WS, since they're two different traits. I'd argue you can't attack at all, but I don't think that's what GW intends. But I've been wrong lots of times because GW is too hard to predict.
