For weeks now ive been studying these forums like im preparing for a final exam, and for the life of me only one thing baffles me. For some reason i keep seeing people take a Book of secrets on Lvl 4 sorcerer lords. I mean why take a level 4 only to make him a level one that can generate a single extra dice. Maybe im reading this codex and FAQ wrong. But it seems worthless unless equipped on a nub.
Heres an example i found. (btw pinkus i love the list you used him in)
Sorcerer Lord of Slaanesh @ 765.0 Pts
Mark of Slaanesh; General; Magic Level 4
Crown of Everlasting Conquest
Book of Secrets
10/10 for Trolling.
Sona si Latine loqueris.
A lot of people don't know there's an FAQ document, especially people new to the game who expect the books to actually contain the correct rules. *chuckles*
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
I'd also advise looking at the dates on army lists. Sometimes old threads get pulled up from the depths and those lists go back to the days of 7th and before the FAQ.
That Lord Combo from Pinkus definately looks like a 7th Edition Lord Combo.
Yeah, you definitely need to be aware of dates on the posts. Book of secrets is usually reserved for lv1 tzeentch sorcerers or exalted/lords to give cheap access to the lore of shadow.
