Welcome to Librarium Online!
Here it is finally- the repository for all the conversion articles, tutorials, and just plain awesome pictures/idea that LO's Warrior community can come up with.
As it stands, GW has not -and does not plan to- release all of the WoC models which we have rules for. They have also chosen to neglect portions of the WoC line, or have presented us with very pricey models (Chosen, for example).
The purpose of this thread is to serve as a creative launch pad for ideas and projects seeking to fill in these gray areas of the official model line. As such, we will be following a few simple rules:
1. Do not post your pictures or tutorials here. This thread will be active enough, I don't want to bog it down with tons of photos, or detract from the Hobby section of the site.
2. Please keep all conversions GW-Legal. GW has a very strict conversion policy. As it currently stands, no 'Bitz' from the LoTR line may be used, and although they might let outside models slide, they must be predominately self-sculpted or Citadel/GW parts. Which brings us to point number 3...
3. Do not post simple 'proxy' solutions Yes, Avatars of War has some very good models, we're aware. However, this thread is intended for conversions, not for saving money or cheating the system.
This thread is for you to post links to noteworthy threads in the hobby sections (your own, or someone elses' if you wish). If the thread is long, like a log, you may want to link directly to the post in questionIf you would like to request a conversion idea, feel free. You can get feedback here, but we'd obviously prefer to see a tutorial, project log, or at least a picture or two in the Hobby section, and just a link to this article.in the upper right corner of each post, you will see a number. For example, this post is '#1'. Click on that number before copying your address bar. This will link you directly to the post in question. The Conversion Library

A thread full of incredible conversions, along with painting and an all around great experience. This is the full thread, well worth the 61pg read through. I'll leave it up to Dee to link to any particular highlights of his worth that he'd like to point out.
Links to highlights can be found HERE (Conversions to the End Times)

Another full-thread link, where Borak can feel free to put up his own highlights. This thread is also chock full of neat conversions (the original Knight-Chosen) and also includes some of the most incredible Chariot and Warshrine conversions to ever grace LO.

That's been a standard policy for a while. When Newline licensed the LotR game, they made sure that they owned all the property rights. It actually put the screws to GW though, as it was a contract, and they had to push the line even when it was failing.
Oooh, oooh, let me start....
Here's a very simple conversion I did of the Chaos giant:
Pretty obvious really, chop the head of, glue on dragon head, use green stuff to fill in large gap under chin. I also put the dragon tail coming out the butt, with some flaps of cloth draped over it. These came from the marauder capes with a bit of green stuff to fill them out and make them look more natural. I also put spines from the giant kit up the giants back, again using green stuff to blend it in and make it look like they are growing out.
Nice giant Chops!
I have an idea for a Warshrine that I would like your opinions about (or experiences if you have done it/ seen it yourself).
The idea is to use Skrag the Slaughterer as the base model (Ogre Kingdoms Skrag the Slaughterer | Games Workshop). The big pot would remain more or less as it is with the contents painted bloody red or gooey green depending on Nurgle or Khorne Mark. Skrag himself would be converted using parts from the plastic spawn set with at least head and arm swaps. If I choose Nurgle I will probably use the insect head from the Spawn set and then Green Stuff his stomach to be even fatter and with the innards showing.
Finally I have the musician from the Chosen Command group (I bought the box to use them as BSB and Exalteds), and he would then walk besides this monstrosity.
What do you guys think? - and have it been done before?
I had an idea of using Khorne Beserker legs with the Chaos knights torsos, weapons etc to create CHosen.
Also teh Chaos KNights are a great source of parts to "extend" mere warriorsa to chosen by adding suitably impressive heads, trophies and weapons.

Okay well I would like to request some ideas on making a warshrine without a chariot, corpse cart etc. I have a reasonable amount of bitz and have 2 WoC battlions and a box of maruder horsemen on the way. Is there any ideas how i could build one with that stuff? btw I have like dinosaur ribs which are about the right size maybe have them upside down? Regards, Shadow
While I probably shoot myself in the foot posting this, my current war-shrine substitute is...
The Silver Knights of Tor Adrac (He): 26/2/4
The Spears of Slaanesh (Woc): 7/2/5
Battlegroup Chalybso (GK): 7/3/3
Alright, I've edited the original post to add in the newest submissions. Good ideas from everyone, that Chaos Giant looks pretty awewsome Chopstyx.
Castiel- I didn't add your entry to the list, but it's definitely got potential. It looks big though- and I've found that Warshrines are some serious cannon-magnets. Some of the other shrines I've seen are large as well, not sure what anyone's ruling would be on that since we don't have an official. We need something to replace that can though. Awesome as Iron Man is and all...
