Welcome to Librarium Online!
For some reason [I think it was through a Chinese gossip website] and I ended up following a link to some music so macho it just made me think of our WoC armies. It's just such a bloodthirsty and testosterone-injected ode to the US armed forces, I think it could be the theme song to our Army Book.
The Warrior Song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTs6a0ORdQU]
If anyone else has an equally stirring and over-the-top tune let us know, this one had me grinning all the way through painting 20 marauders - so it worked for me.
Sona si Latine loqueris.
Try this one for size:
YouTube - Warhammer 40000 - Gods of War
Yeah i know, they use it for the smurf marines and the bit about sons of odin and the hammer are kinda empire sounding..... but we the mighty chaos are the true God's Of War!! Let the blood flow free!
Yeah, pretty much anything by manowar would suit i think.
Well, in my opinion the role of Chaos Band must still go to Bolt Thrower with albums such as 'Realm of Chaos' with the tunes 'Eternal war' ( YouTube - Bolt Thrower-Eternal War ), 'Through the Eye of Terror', and 'Plague Bearer'.
The quality of their tunes vary (as have the members of the band through the years as far as I know), but they sure do love Warhammer and Chaos =P
I think that Manowar are incredibly cheesy and lame, but in a weird way horribly gratifying to listen to, especially in the context of Warriors of Chaos. So here we go, Dark Avenger: YouTube - Manowar - Dark Avenger
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
Disturbed all the way for me - cant wait to see them live again next month

I tend to obsess over a particular album or track and listen to it regardless of setting. Currently it's a good portion of the musical score of StarCraft 2...

I don't listen to anything particularly heavy whenever I'm painting. I usually just stick the iTunes on shuffle and let it go. If I pick out music, it depends on my mood. If I'm just relaxing to paint, I usually pick out music that keeps me calm and upbeat- so either Gaelic folk like the Dubliners or Pogues and maybe some Flogging Molly or Dropkicks, or reggae/beach music from Slightly Stoopid or Jack Johnson. Right now though it's music by The Seatbelts- the same band who did the Cowboy Beebop OST.
Painting for a deadline is different though- I usually pick metal or something heavy to up the pace. Iron Maiden, Korn, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, The Mars Volta / At the Drive In, Ministry, Children of Bodom, Primus, Puscifer... the list goes on for quite a while really.

Theme Song for your Army
been running strong for nearly 2 years now, with no signs of stopping.
Lol no worries. It's good BBQ music too. Proper 'man' music in my opinion. Masculinity to the point of stupidity (I'm sure my Mrs has described me as that somewhere in the past) Anyway I digress........ actually, thinking about it, i'm not as there is no point to this post.
I have to agree with you there tho Capt'n. I find different songs for different armies help you paint them. Metal/Rock for Chaos and then some cheesey sound track from Starship troopers or Predator for my Guard. Then the Transformers sound track (animated) if I'm painting my grotz.
If I'm trying to relax, Bruddah Iz. If I'm trying to get pumped, metal.
Screw the spray gun. I paint my own models!
