Alright so I was at my local hobby store today to play a game against a friend, and got my butt whooped. He was playing skaven, and went kind of cheesy with both a Hellpit and the Doomwheel, which I was not prepared for so he took my out without a problem. Afterwards, I asked him and a couple of other friends about organizing a big team battle after Christmas, and they all agreed it would be fun.
The game we're aiming for would be a good vs. evil theme. There are 6 players, 3 on each side. On the Evil side, there is myself, playing Chaos, another player playing Chaos, and my friend playing Skaven (Not the same guy I played today).
On the good side, I have a friend playing Wood elves, my friend who beat me today playing High Elves, and another player playing Lizardmen.
I am confident enough to beat the lizards, for I saw his list, and the only thing I have to worry about is a EOTG and some salamanders, so I'm not worried. However, I'm concerned about the High Elves (Not only because he is a brilliant general, but because elves usually cause problems for me), and the wood elves could be tricky, depending on what my friend brings.
Any advice/tips/pointers to how I can defeat the forces of good?
Magic is going to ruin your day.
HE AND Lizzies, ouch.
Plus WE can get some good dispel items.
Are you playing with restrictions? Such as, no Teclis / Book of Hoeth.
I would swarm the table with hounds so I could get to the opposite side as fast as possible with as many warriors standing as possible.
Black Tongue + Infernal Puppet might ruin someones day. Just be care full not to be in the Slanns line of sight if you use it on him.
Definitely Third Eye!
Two Hellcannons, Doom Totem, Doom & Darkness, first spell from lore of light, Slaanesh DP with Diabolic Splendour.
Great way of messing with high ld armies.
Against Elves Skaven has by far the best magic [Plague] so let him handle that while the two of you build scary Exalteds.
Blocks of Warriors will do great, as they always do.
Bring along a warshrine.
Hounds shouldn't attack ANYTHING, but they pay for themselves in deployment/screening/baiting.
Sona si Latine loqueris.
Yeah I was thinking about running one or two warshrines, a couple of big blocks of marauders to lock up his blocks of saurus/dryads/elves, and some khorne warriors with halberds or two hand weapons. I dont have a model for the hellcannon, though i have thought of using one.
Any tips on bringing down that steggy? He also has a slaan as a lord ( I saw his list )
So, in short, Warmachines will do wonders followed by a tie between XHW infantry w/ Festus and Magic. It's tough, but not invincible. But let us know how the battle goes!
maybe one of the 2 WoC players should bring some trolls (with troggh it's awesome) it could be nasty
I was thinking about bringing some nasties (ogres, trolls, a shagg) but I dont have the models or the money for them, and im not sure if the other chaos player has any either
