Some funny ideas about our named Characters.

Well these ideas are nothing new or funny, mainly how they're intended to be used. Only one that is wrong is Valkia's re-rolls. When something allows a re-roll (of any kind) it is on the pretext that the BRB says there is NEVER re-rolling of re-rolls, the second result always stands, unless an exception is stated (like on the page for Chosen, saying that they can re-roll 7's and 2's on eye of the gods, but ONLY these results).
Hmm, I've never tried it and not sure if it would work but... Wulfrik and his unit of Marauders, could you add characters to that unit?
Characters count as part of the unit so I can see it working, but it does seems fairly... cheesy. My thinking is adding a Sorcerer to it.
Have Wulfrik appear at the right or left of the enemy lines. Then have the Sorcerer cast Purple Sun. The horror, the tears. The you're-probably-not-playing-that-guy-again-ness.
Valkia and Trolls would be super fun to try out. Especially with Throgg added to the mix. Maybe a unit of Chosen. Toss in some Warshrines. Troll horde fully Eye'd out would be... monstrous *bad joke, sorry!*
It clearly says a unit of maurauders, so I think you can't let another character join the unit until its on the table.
Hence why I'm not sure it'd work. But I realized just now you wouldn't be able to cheese your way through with it, since you deploy characters last, and all deployment is done on the table.
Not into some unit that's not on the table and won't deploy until in the game itself. Doubt my friends would try to stop me if I did add a Sorcerer to Wulfrik's routine of Marauders, but using Purple Sun in combination would be taking it too far. And not very fun for anyone involved.
Another fun idea (although pretty well known, it wouldn't hurt to point it out to those new to WoC who happen to be reading) is to use Festus in a horde of Marauders.
And alternatively in addition having a Sorcerer of Shadow in the army.
A huge horde of models that has a 5+ regeneration save? Don't mind if I do! Let's not forget Poisoned Weapons. A Marauders of Khorne horde can spit out ridiculous amounts of attacks so it works nicely with it.
Especially after the charge when they no longer can benefit from the nice strength 5 from using flails (unless you have great weapons, but often that's a waste of the initiative 4 they have, if you don't fight a lot of High Elves like I happen to do).
The Shadow Lore hexes, while impressive, can be devastating if used with Curse of the Leper, having a good chance to instantly eat a unit of low toughness foes in combination with Enfeebling or Whithering. Also, should Festus roll up the Regeneration spell, it can be a ton of fun on a Khorne Warrior unit, or Knights.
