Welcome to Librarium Online!
Here is my first model that I am working on. A kit bashed sorcerer of nurgle:
He has some nasty infections on his shoulder and on his sword, and his head has the trademark nurgle horn.
Here is his staff bearing the symbol of Nurgle:
Any sugjestions on how to paint it? Any other stuff you think i should do to him before I paint? Thanks in advance. Next will be my Tzeentch standard bearer!
I'm loving the Green stuff work. Very horrid looking, add more of it . Maybe some tentacles too? If he's a sorcerer maybe do some scrolls as well? Or parchment? Make it look like flayed skin and then paint writing/runes on it when it's done
Painting it? Well you can go for some heavy green&brown&yellow washes over a light green base or do the same washes over metal. I find both works pretty well and makes it look quite sickly. As for the 'mark' of nurgle on his staff, how about painting them like eyes or boils?
First attempt? Bloody hell. Thats leagues better than my first attempt Tentalces are quite easy to do if you are doing small ones. Big ones I'd build the Green Stuff over a Paper clip or some other peice of wire to give it some strength.
Flayed skin. I do mine with colours you can't buy any more so I can't really help there Just do it a slightly paler version of how you do your skin. Then, mix scab red and the flesh colour, water this down to make a wash and then put this one one side to represent it being bloodied and stained.
Looks good so far, the boils remind me of when I had MRSA and almost died though ... probably why I'm no fan of Nurgle!
Hey! Heres my first update:
I added tentacles to my sorcerer. Some coming out of the staffs head and some out of his arm. I think I am about ready to paint him (I will probably start next week):
I built the first of my khorne halberd warriors. I have 12 other warriors that i have not given halberds yet because I need to strip and repaint them. Their armor will be painted red with silver or gold edging, their helms will be painted a tannish color for contrast from the rest of the model, their clokes will be light brown with red washes (to give the look of clotted blood), and their fur will be white with red washes in the recesses. They will either be Khorne or undivided with the banner of rage, so I was going to green-stuff blood dripping off the standard. Heres where they are right now though:
Lastly, I have started on my Tzeentch standard berrer. I have only painted the horse's armor so bear with me. The guy's armor will be the same type of look as the horses but with orange and yellow (other colors of course but just the general colors). I am going to give him a halberd, which will be held by a tentacle arm with suckers on it. I have already started skulpting that part and it is coming along well. Heres what the he looks like right now. Tell me what you think of the paint job!
Please give me feed back on everything!
The sorcerer is top notch, two thumbs up, going to be a great model. Everything else looks very good. It's clear you're going to be fielding a much better than "table top" quality army in terms of models. The sorcerer is just awesome.
that sorcerer looks just awesome!
keep it going that way!
Thanks for the poitive feedback guys! Any reccomendations on how to do the standard berrers armor?
Nice work mate.
The armor, Id suggest doing mainly light gold coloured, with black underneath, and then with blue as highlights. Depends a bit on what you want to do with the army, but the lighter tone you give armor, the bigger the model will look.
For shredded/sickly looking flesh I usually go elf flesh, wash it with unthinned flesh/brown wash, and then drybrush with elf grey.
