I saw someone post the strategy for a "Hellshriek/Diabolic Splendor Bomb" and I'd added a Doom Totem in there for giggles. But here comes the question: Can this spell be used in close combat? Is there a spell 'type' for Hellshriek? The guys I was playing against say if it's a hex spell, it can only be cast on those in line of sight, and since the only line of sight unit to a unit in CC is their immediate opponent, it can only effect that unit. And since that enemy unit is in Close Combat, it is immune to panic.
So my question is basically, what 'type' of spell is Hellshriek? it seems to me that it doesn't really fit in one of the categories. Have any of you all been in this situation?
It doesn't require a LoS.
It is every unit within 18" takes a panic test.
(or I have been cheating really hard)
The way I play it, you can cast it from combat, but units in combat are not affected.
I love my lvl2 Death mage with Spell Familiar on the table with a lvl4 Slaanesh Splendor mage.
I find the Doom Totem to mean. People I face have less problems with Death apparently.
Another advantage is that Death also complements the rest of the Slaanesh Lore.
Doom and Darkness in combo with the spell where the enemy needs a ld check or it can't attack you.
Soulblight with spell 6 from Slaanesh = win.
there is a update on the BRB, hex and augments don't need LOS anymore!
you just need range
Ecstatic Seizures! This spell absolutely SAVED my butt against a full unit of 20 - 30 Black Guard Dark Elves. Those guys are friggin strong... but luckily not terribly tough.. making each model in the unit pass a toughness test or take a wound, no saves allowed, is pretty awesome Decimated that unit long before it got in range, and warriors could finish it off.
erm i dont have my codex infront of me but from what i remember hellshriek is every unit within 18" takes a panic test
im not sure but are u asking if u can cast this into combat?
well the answer is yes but it will have no effect as units in close combat and never takes a panic test
My best experience with Slaanesh magic has to have been that time I cast the cause fear+enemy need ld test on a unit Marauders.
They where fighting a Bloodthirster.
Bloodthirster rolled 12 for his ld... he died shortly after that.
Ecstatic seizures on a unit Bestigors, three quarter of the unit dies, rest flees of the table.
Also ranks pretty high on my "Slaanesh is awesome" list.
