Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey folks, as some might know I'm pretty new to chaos. I have just the normal every day GW models - warriors, marauders, horseman, knights and dogs. Oh and Scyla.
My question for this thread is what kit(s) do you use for your warshrine? Do you use the chaos chariot and change it around a bit? Because I'm not digging that model personally ... or another races chariot? Something completely different?
My idea personally for my warshrine was to use a chariot - haven't decided whcih type yet and obviously changed around a bit and the Scyla model pulling it on a chariot base.
So I was just wondering what your warshrine looked like. Sorry if this topic exists, I didn't find it.
Hey Blackheart, I've got tzeentch warshrines so I used the crypt cart or whatever it's called from Vampire counts and I drilled a hole in it and put it on a flying base, then got some chain and a screamer and linked them up and put an exalted hero on top with a csm tzeentch icon so it looks like its floating.
Why do you have it floating? Just for looks? The warshrine can't fly in game right?
No, the Warshrine cannot fly. However, it works aesthetically because of how much Tzeentch has things that fly/float (Disk, Screamers, Flamers, etc). For myself, I haven't built mine quite yet (I'm finishing up my hell cannons first), I use the Orks Killa Kan from 40k. The look/fluff of my army is that it has close ties to the Chaos Dwarfs and so have a large number of walking Demon Engines of doom. My Hell Cannon is based off the Deff Dread with some cannons strapped to the back, and the Warshrines I am looking to build are the Killa Kans with the Sarcophagus cut open with a lesser demon chained into it.
I have also heard good ideas in this vein, but less demon oriented, to make some kind of platform and chain a Warrior Priest into it, so that it is like he is a corrupted/enslaved priest who is forced into a conduit for the Chaos Gods as the ultimate insult. This model could work if you were to remove the hammers and instead wrap his hands in chains connect to whatever platform you choose:

I used a corpse cart, pulled by a juggernaught... will throw up some pics in the model thread stickied..
Warshrine's are pretty much the best outlet for creativity the game has to offer. Think outside the box, the further you go the greater the rewards. I've seen/heard of people using chariots, corpse carts, ogres, trolls, stegadons, giants, deamons. . . you name it. It can literally be ANYTHING, if done to fluff.
I haven't gotten to creative, yet. I have Harry the Hammer In front of a stone alter with a pentacle engraved on the surface, with a sexy slave girl chained to the top and 2 more flanking either side of it. I'm still keeping my eye out for other parts that could be added, and possibly replacing Harry for a more . . . . feminine theme. Sacrificial offerings of the daughter's of their fallen foes, Or enchanting concubines perhaps?
@talismanictattoo : Definitely want to see your warshrine, sounds epic!
Corpse cart is a popular choice. You could also go for something bigger like a screaming bell / plague furnace kit. This could look amazing, and would be awesome in game because warshrines make effective screens, so bigger model = bigger screen (CHEEEEZE)

i'm going to do my warshrine with stuff of heroquest:
the sorcerer and tha altar but 'm not out how i'm going to do it...
being pulled by a juggernaut, horse, spawn, some slave beings...
floating or rolling...
my first idea was floating on a rock, being pulled by a spawn or juggernaut
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I keep trying to post a new thread (in army lists) but it tells me it needs moderator approval. Anyone know why I can post replies but not new threads?
