Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm running a few ideas for exalteds and I have what I think is a nice mix of killyness and fluff.
Exalted, Halberd, MoT, Daemonic Mount, Talisman of Pres, favour.
Should = 224. I'm pondering adding SoC as well ...
There's a fluffy part to this that I don't think most will like, I enjoy the idea of a mounted lord leading his infantry into battle. So I will be putting him in a unit of warriors - number of which is yet to be decided.
I also plan to do a bit of converting here. I plan to use the Scyla model (the ugly head will be green stuffed a bit to look better) and the lord off the Daemonic Mount model. I really don't dig mean horses as Daemonic Mounts so I wanted to change it up a bit.
Just looking for a bit of input on this build, I feel it should be pretty killy and with those saves it should be pretty tough to kill. Thanks for any input.
I quite like it.
Sure you will get targeted with every cannon and template there is.
But then again, you have high ini, a good save, an excellent ward, so he should survive long enough.
Plus him being targeted means the rest isn't!
But one lucky cannonball will end him.
I have that problem aswell. Want to put a BSb on juggernaughty and have him with the warriors, it makes a bad cannontarget but it looks so cool i simply can't do it not! Then again, i havent had the guts to actually FIELD this armylist xD
I like the scyla mount idea and i also like greenstuffing the head to look different. maybe there's some cool heads around looking at greater daemons, spawn kits or old the flesh hounds.
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
Because he's 50x50 as opposed to 25x25? I suppose that makes sense, hopefully I can keep him in combat or screened to at least limit the damage of enemy arty.Originally Posted by Maximus-PrimeI figured the items were but my question is more about the mount and the way in which I'd be using him. ie - leading infantry whilst mounted.Originally Posted by CaptainSarathaiHim being my general or not depends on point level I suppose, I think I like the idea of using a sorcerer who avoids CC as my general. Part of the build is dependent upon him leading infantry, so the drogres are out of the question. Seems like a very nice idea though. If this guy is going to be your general, I'd pull him off the Daemonic Mount, or put him into a regiment of Dragon Ogres.I play friendly's only at this point so I'm never facing optimal lineups, we always play fluffy/what looks cool.Originally Posted by DiggerI love the idea of a daemon mount but the only thing they actually sell is the dude with the hammer on the horse, the fluff in the army book clearly makes these mounts appear to be more than just spiky horses though ... as for the head I was contemplating a head of tentacles with a mean looking maw.I like the scyla mount idea and i also like greenstuffing the head to look different. maybe there's some cool heads around looking at greater daemons, spawn kits or old the flesh hounds.
On a side note the word maw is so funny to me, here in NY we never use the word ... ever.
FYI A pramblem is like a problem, but much worse.
The part that concerns me more is that the 50x50 base displaces 4 models from combat. that is 6 attacks for warriors, in exchange for his 4 and whatever the mount has. He doesn't add much resiliance or leadership bonus either. I would say that in a unit of warriors he potentially weakens the unit. a horde of maraders on the other hand, the displacement isn't quite so terrible a thing and he provides them with a higher ldr, str t and # of attacks. If you wanted to experiment with this build, i would drop him in a big block of maraders.
This still may not be the best way to go, but thats how it goes when you decide to ride on fluff. It can be alot of fun to use, as long as you can have fun while you lose.
lol, I have no idea what you're getting at.FYI A pramblem is like a problem, but much worse.Against empire I wouldn't dream of bringing him. I imagine he'd get shot up faster than a NY Democrat at an NRA meeting. No, because he isn't considered infanty, he will not get a lookout sir. Any template weapon that hits him (cannons are considered template) will hit him. This has monumental prablems against certain armies.I know ... brutal, absolutely brutal. When I first realized this I said to myself "well hell, there goes that idea" but I'm a glutton for punishment. I do like the idea of leading Maruaders though, very interesting. The part that concerns me more is that the 50x50 base displaces 4 models from combat.Eh, I'm married with two daughters, the idea of "winning" left my soul a long time ago.It can be alot of fun to use, as long as you can have fun while you lose.
Leading Marauders would be good. The manager at my local plays (among every other army printed on the back of your book) a very fluffy Warriors army that features 100+ marauders and MCav and hardly any Warriors, Knights, or Chosen. He has a 50mm Lord (Archaon model) leading his Marauder infantry, and it works out well enough. Displacing 4 Marauders isn't as bad as displacing 4 Warriors. I always laugh when people add Juggernauts to C.Knight regiments- you'll do better with the Knights most of the time...
Yeah, really ... just getting to play a game is winning. Most of the time I'm mowing the lawn, fixing something that fell off my house, killing something that the women folk are simply terrified of, working, helping someone move something very heavy - apparently having big shoulders means I like to move heavy things - I sometimes wish I were a skinny little guy who couldn't lift a piece of paper.QTF- and I'm not even a family man. Let's just say I know
You know I was thinking of the displaced attacks and I don't really think it's that big a deal. The two warriors in the front are 4 attacks which is = to the exalted, the exalted's attacks obviously being more effective and the two supporting attacks are replaced by the mounts two attacks. Now those are attacks are -1WS +1S ... so /meh. I know it's not as optimal as having a hero on foot join the unit but I don't think it gimps the unit at all.
I was thinking of running the unit 6x3 with 14 warriors, MoT sword and boards.
u cld just use it has a unit filler
thats what i did with my archeon model
i really like the model and so just put him as a unit filler
still looks like he is leading his guys into battle
