Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am playing a tzeentch themed army and focussing heavily on MoT infantry, but for extra hitting power I want to include some trolls. They seem to perform well in terms of rules as long as the general and bsb is nearby, but also because their "mutating regeneration" fits the theme of tzeentch.
What I want to ask you guys is what would you use for models when it comes to chaos trolls?
I don't like the old chaos trolls on gw website; don't like the looks and they are also quite expensive. River trolls are a bit cheaper, but still not the best looking in my opinion. Actualy thought about buying chaos spawns instead and use them for trolls, to make it look like they've mutated beyond recognition.
I need 6 trolls total, 3x2 formation. What are your ideas /opinions on troll models?
Personally I use stone trolls - they're slightly more expensive and not plastic but they look alot better than river trolls imo.

Take a look at my trolls in the painting challenge thread. I kit bashed a river troll box with a chaos spawn box to make them all mutated, I was very pleased with the result.
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
The Forgeworld Nurgle Bile Trolls are great models too, although they're so big that they don't rank up brilliantly unless you assemble them meticulously
