If the spell hits, and X amount of models fail the initiative test but have no armor saves to begin with.. How does this spell effect them? Does it just not affect them at all since the spell says it's their armor that drags them down? Looks like a fun spell but I don't want to take a lore that I know nothing about.
You're correct. If they have no save they can't be killed. However there isn't much in an army that doesn't have an armour save. Even Daemons have models with armour and all the others sport some infantry with heavy armour or some form of armoured cavalry.
Yeah to me this spell seems like it would be best used against a unit of barded knights or possibly a war machine if you need them to have a decent armor save to make the spell happen. Honestly I like the idea of a unit of knights or a chariot disappearing from the board without my units having to get their hands too dirty. lol
Aye thats pretty much what it's for! Against Elves or Warriors then it's pretty useless as their high Initiative will save them no matter what their armour saves are. However against things like Hell Cannons, Dwarf Iron Breakers, Mournfang Cavalry and other such units that have low Initiative and a good armour save the spells pretty awesome.
I like the Lore of Nurgle, Regen on Warrior units or units of Monsters is nasty as sin, buboes is cool and a few of the other Spells are pretty sweet too. Alas Lores like Shadow or Heavens are just more reliable.
Yeah I looked at Nurgle and had to wipe the drool off myself (not literally..that'd be weird). Thought about giving Festus a whirl in an army list some time just to have a nurgle sorc that starts off with some nice mods.
i love nurgle.
try this spell on a steam tank. auto fails the init test then dies outright on a 2+
Nurgle is awesome it has tons of low cast value spells. very versatile.
probably one of my favorites, i like it a lot more then shadow.
That's what the Empire book says - it autofails I tests.
