The mark of Tzeentch states:
"It bestows a 6+ ward save upon the bearer. If the model has a ward save from another source, then that ward save is instead increased by 1."
stacked with Blasted Standard:
"The unit with the Blasted Standard has a 5+ ward save against all attacks made in the shooting phase."
Let's assume I have no ward saves at all, prior to taking these two items. Does this mean I have a 4+ ward save when being shot at, and a 6+ ward save for everything else?
Or do I have to choose? Meaning, do I have to choose from the former part of the mark, or the latter? Pick between the 6+ ward save all the time, or to have my shooting ward save increased by +1?
It reads to me that I should get both effects. +1 when being shot at, so 4+ total with the standard, and then when I am shot at by magic, or in close combat, I should then get a 6+ ward save as well.
Any help would be great! I had a large argument with an opponent this weekend over this.
You get both, it stacks with any ward saves you have in addition to providing a basic 6+ ward.
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
How bizarre, didn't we JUST answer this exact question?
My buddy is having the same issue.. He just posted twice and his 2nd one hasn't show up either. He waited a lot longer though for his 1st post to show up.
If the moderators have to approve every post before its posted, then that is what is causing the problem.
Viktor is correct.
with blasted standard and MoT you would get;
6+ wardsave (standard, vs stuff like stomps or magic.)
4+ wardsave vs shooting
5+ parry save in close combat (if you had a shield and are not frenzied)
mark of tzeentch and talisman of preservation, hellllo 3+ ward save!
That is really rad. Im excited. Thanks fellas!
