The mark of Tzeentch reads:
"It bestows a 6+ ward save upon the bearer. If the model has a ward save from another source then that ward save is increased by 1."
The Blasted Standard reads:
"The unit with the Blasted Standard has a 5+ ward save against all attacks made in the shooting phase."
My question is this, do they stack and do I get both effects? Meaning, if I do not have any ward saves at all, other than having these two items, and when I'm being shot at, is my Blasted Standard increased to a 4+ ward save? And then for everything else I have a 6+ ward save? Or do I have to choose? Either increase my shooting ward save by +1, or get a 6+ ward save for everything?
It reads to me that when I'm being shot at from arrows I should get a 4+ ward save. Then, when I get hit with magic, or am in close combat, I should then also get a 6+ ward save because I do not otherwise have any ward save for those attacks.
I had a large argument over the week from this confusion, any help would be great!
Technically, I do not have a ward save in close combat, but I do have one in my shooting phase. Since I have one at least somewhere, would I still get the 6+ in my close combat?
Obviously you can't combine it with a regen save or something else that would take the place of a ward save. Say you had trolls with MoT.. they could choose their regeneration save OR their 6+ ward save. They can't improve their regen save by +1
Okay awesome. That is what I was hoping! It just seems silly to me to have the mark, and not have a ward save because I used it up already when I was shot at.
Thank you for the clarification!
...which is why tzeentch warriors with hw/sh and MoT are so awesome...4+ ward against shooting, and a 5+ parry save in melee!

Mark of nurgle for trolls should increase their regeneration save by 1 >.>
Warriors of chaos: 2010 > pressent
Lizardman: 2009 > 2010 , 2011> Present
You should be able to put Mark of Nurgle on Trolls. Let's start with that.
