Which warmachine type should we fear the most? Cannons, Stonethrowers or Boltthrowers?
Knights = Windmortar
Monsters = Cannon/WarpLightningCannon/Doomwheel
Monsterous Infantry = Bolt Thrower/Doomwheel
Marauders = Empire mortar
Warriors = Hellblaster
Above all else I fear cannons.

I have come to the same conclusion after having a single cannon destroying my Warshrine, panicked a unit of warriors and killing three Knights before blowing itself up.

cannons are hands down the worst to deal with because they take out the big things like they were nothing, AND because out of all the war machines out there, they are the most reliable/accurate.
I have very little concern for anything skaven as to this date they have always done more harm to themselves than to me. Dragon Ogres sell Doomwheels in prison for smokes.
My biggest fear is an organ gun. Asspicialy when paired up in two's. They can spit out an average of 10 shots auto hit S5 -3AS. Combined with a master engeneer they can re-roll there first artillary dice. And with a range of 24" they get to that twice before you reach them to snuff them out. I've seen them look at my warrior blocks (1 and then my warriors where gone. Even worse when they look at knights.
...............and yes. Organ guns are a pain in the behind. Auto hits with the new LoS rules hurts. I can see that bad boy changing when they get a new book.
If you're going to fight a gunline, do you apply some rules to your army build depending on guns your opponent is using? Like no lords on ridden monsters if there are guns, or more dogs, or smaller/bigger blocks of some units?
Dwarf cannons are no joke. Str 10 with d3 multi wound. Ouchies. If they can get the right angle, say goodbye to any unit in the chaos army (unless you have amazing wards). Chances are good they can make you panic.
Empire cannons are just as bad, minus the d3 multi wounds.

Alfy- Empire cannons are Great Cannons, and therefore cause D6 multiwounds. They're better than the Dwarf gun, save for costing the Empire a few more points.
I don't actually worry that much about cannons, I run my infantry in 3 ranks, so the most they're going to take down is 3 guys unless they can get a good angle on me.
I hate Organ Guns, but not the Helblaster. The Blaster still has to roll to hit, and although it can do a lot of damage, it's nothing the Organ can't do in addition to auto-hits. Empire handgunners are actually just about as effective as their volleygun.
The poison stuff that the Skaven bring to the table causes me the most havoc, since it can do a lot of damage and ignores my saves altogether. While a cannon also skips my saves, it doesn't hit quite as many people as the poison does.
