I think there is a thread somewhere about this but I was looking to make a "That couldn't happen again if I wanted to" thread for just us Chaos folk. Basically, just post a battle experience where something fan-freakin-tastic happened in a fight against what army and tell us what gift the Chaos Gods bestowed on you for a round (or two)!
-Exalted Hero on Juggy riding shotgun
Chariot tried to charge the unit and FAILS. I get the charge negating his impact hits and due to Initiative striking, killed it before it got to do anything in first round. Charge continued forward into the Black Orcs. Used Stream from the Hero on them and killed 14 of them in 1 shot (this was freakin awesome and my friend was uber mad), warriors and juggy killed off the rest and yet again, continued the charge forward into the Orc boyz. 13/15 wounds from knights, 4/5 wounds from horses, and everything hit with the hero and juggy. Combat resolution in my favor. Unit runs through the warboss but he passes panic, I pursue right into boss, kill it off in first round from the hero alone, and end up running into the fleeing orc boyz.
I could NEVER do that again if I wanted to and that was the first time I've ever used the Hero on Juggy. You wanna talk about a really upset O&G owner that was it. We played 1k points and we played the scenario for the mountain pass so the table was narrow.
Warriors of Chaos > 3,000
Life - TBA
I had a similar experience against my friends TK's using a bunch of knights with a juggernaut hero, where I got onto his flank and continued to just roll through everything until he just called it after turn 3.
Rolls were pretty good for me and the way he positioned his units wasn't the best, luck played a big role for me that day
I was at a Tournament at Warhammer world a few years ago. I was up against some Wood Elf player who had pretty much tabled me. At the end of Turn 4 I had my BSB in combat with 2 Way Watcher heroes with great weapons and a Way Watcher Lord (they're the ones with +1A right?) with Great weapon. I had my Giant on one wound looking at 2 Treemen and a Level 1 Shaman with bears anger.
My 5th turn I cast Bears anger on the BSB on IF and he rips one of the heroes to shreds and survives the return attacks. Both the lord and the remaining hero leg it and are cut down by the BSB. He over runs into a Branch wraith. My Giant charged a Treeman and kills it with thrump with club. Go giant.
His 6th turn he charges his remaining treeman into my Giant, fails to kill him and dies in return. Mr giant splatting it with thrump with club again. The BSB gets charged by a unit of war dancers and glade guard. He tries to dispel Bears anger (needing a 4+) using 3 dice and rolls double 1 so fails. BSB challenges the War Dancer champ and rips him to shreds, wins combat and breaks the dancers, Guard and wraith. Running down the Dancers.
My last turn my BSB charges the fleeing Wraith who fails to out run him and I smack into a unit of glade guard. Who he beats up and forces off the board.
No one pisses off my BSB. Especially Elves.
I had a similar BSB MVP moment the other day, albeit not as ridiculous. He was in a group of knights against an O&G army and they were way out of position at a weird angle, thanks to avoiding fanatics. I pretty much had no choice but to charge a turn before the rest of the army into his savage big un block. Seeing this, he lines up his piggies for a flank charge, planning on breaking the knights and overrunning through my army. Two knights and the bsb end up holding both units up for two full turns, and the bsb almost kills his combat lord. They died to a man, but they held up so many points for so long that my Tzeentch warriors, after eating some black orcs, came to the fight and won the day. I was so out of position I didn't think I could win that game after turn 2, but knights and barded bsbs are tough sons o' guns.
Fear me, mortals, for I am The Anointed, The Favored Son of Chaos, The Scourge of the World. The armies of the Gods rally behind me, and it is by My Will and by My Sword that your weakling nations shall fall. - Archaon, The Everchosen, Lord of the End Times
Playing vs. Dark Elves [2000pts]
Cast Aspect of the Dreadknight on my 50 Marauders with a level 4 death sorcerer bunkered in it - then fired the Warshrine Blessing on the unit. Favored the result once to re-roll and then nudged the 2nd roll to get +1T for the whole block!
That single unit proceeded to pretty much win the game on its own, ripping apart a block of executioners followed by my Lord sniping off the Hydra and blowing up both enemy casters thanks to Infernal Puppet. His Lore of Metal and Repeater Crossbows struggle to wound anything.
“If you’re in the penalty area and don’t know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we’ll discuss the options later.” – Bob Paisley
Two of my fave games.
1. This was against a goblin horde army. On Turn 2 my giant charges a unit of goblin archers who fail there terror check and flee. This causes goblin panic to ripple down his battle line and his big horde unit of 100 goblins with shaman lord, warboss and big bosses panics and flees off the board. All he had left was a unit of archers and big unit of trolls who my khorne halberd and exalted rip through with the flaming banner. We called it after that.
2. Against an empire player. The board was spit in two bya piece of inpassable terrain. On the one side I put my GW mauraders and on the other away from his hellblaster I put my full plate warriors. He get lore of metal top spell off which wipes out my BSB and sourcer general. He asks if i want to call it. I say no. My GW mauraders then run up the field surving an artillery bombardment to rip through his knights, warpriest, hellbalatser, cannon, moratar, his wizard general and a unit of swordsmen with his BSB. I ended up getting a minor victory according to the rules of the tournament.
"my heart pump gangsta"
I played a 3k game against a Demon army, and with a misfire 3 from a Hell cannon and the Infernal puppet, and a direct hit from my other Cannon, I killed every character he had before he even got to move. We called it there and reset for another game. He got the first turn this time and advanced. My turn, a Hell Cannon one shots his 700 point Keeper of Secrets, the other kills a Herald on Disk, and Gateway nukes the other Herald on Disk. All he has now is a unit of 3 blood crushers, a horde of Blood Letters, and a horde of Demonettes.
It was kind of incredible to remove basically all of his characters on turn one in two consecutive games.
I was 1/2 way thru recalling my tale when i rememberd my buddy did a battle report on the match.
Remember he wrote the thing =P
Here it is.
Lists are irrelevant.
His troops are pretty central, with a unit of halbred warriors on the western flank, and his mage bunker on the eastern.
He gets first turn
Turn 1, Chaos
Magic is 7 vs 9 - I manage to channel twice and steal one of his dice from the annullian crystal. He throws 6 dice at ecstatic seizures, and it goes off irresistably. He kills 21 spearmen, they panic, and run to within 2" of the board edge. The miscast gets adjusted by the puppet, and he loses a couple marauders.
Shooting - He fires a shot with his hellcannon on the white lions. Direct hit, 7 of them die.
Turn 1, High Elves
After being decimated in the first round, I really had to make a comeback in this turn. I charge his dogs with my dragon princes, but fail. The rest of my troops move forward slightly, and the spearmen rally.
Magic is 12 v 6. I start with a banishment with my level 2 on his knights. Goes off with a miscast. I kill 3 knights, then the puppet causes him to S10 large template his unit, in addition to sucking him into the void. The Archers fail their panic test despite their reroll, and flee off the board, including the second backup mage.
My Archmage tries his hand at casting a spell - He goes for a Pha's Protection bubble. Miscast on 3 dice, he drops a S10 large template on the white lions, who then panic (yes, with a reroll as well...) and will be rallying on snakeyes due to being below 25%.
After losing 1500 points in the first turn, I concede the game.
Yes, turn 1.
I throw my dice in the trash and call it a day.
So much more satisfying, hearing it from their end =P
