Welcome to Librarium Online!
I recently bought a Daemon Prince but so far I have only undercoated it because I am not quite sure how I an going to paint it. In game terms it would be used as a sorcerer who would use either the lore of death or shadow and so a colour scheme that would be suitable for both would be good.
So does anyone have any ideas as to how I would paint it?
Any and all ideas welcome.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. The model has wings, so any thoughts about those would also be good.
Paint it with gold metallic paint.
Then you can hold it while you look in the mirror and thank the Academy for recognizing your talent, your agent for always pushing you, and of course your mother for always being there when you needed her.

If its Shadow or Death then Dark colours would be good. Blacks, Greys and maybe deep purples for Eyes and small details. Grey skin, Black armour with Purple eyes and maybe a deep purple for the wings would look pretty nice.
Thanks for the replies, if I was to use grey would you go with quite a dark grey or a lighter tone and do you thing that it would look good if I used grey for the chest area and then black for the other skin or what? If I didn't use black for the armour would it be better to use silver, gold or bronze? Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure I get it right because it is a model I really like, however overall I like the look of the general idea and I can't believe I didn't think of it first.
I did mine in 3 shades of blue and then added a black wash until it was dark enough - finishing up with blue highlights later.
Then I knocked the damn think off the table and it smashed into 5 pieces - took hours to repair/repaint and it never looked as good as the first time.
Sorry for the photo quality, had to use paint - don't have Photoshop.

I used belakor for my price too. Great model!
I've found that it's very hard to get a cool looking dark gray model that looks different from the standard gray that the plastic is. I think a deep purple with gray wing "webbing and black armor would be cool. Use liche purple for the skin and codex gray for the wing "webbing" and chaos black drybrushed with codex gray for the armor. Depending on how much detail you wanted to get into, you could highlight the skin with a 50:50 warlock purple/liche purple mix and the wings with a 50:50 codex gray/fortress gray mix and then go over it with badab black wash to make the highlights less obvious and seem more natural.
Antithesis, you can strip the mini with super clean right down to bare metal and start over again. I find myself doing this every couple of years to big minis as my painting ability got better.
