Welcome to Librarium Online!
In the army page I talked a few weeks ago of a game I had with a high smurf player. He smashed me with a Teclis.
Today he sent me a text which is music to my ears...
He wants to have a rematch...
“Rematch – I will destroy you - without magic!”
Music to my Khorne Biased ears!
I just thought I should share this with you all.
1000 points – no magic, fully painted vs high smurfs ... magic!
Naturally fellow Chaos Generals - feel free to let your imaginative minds run riot in the context of how and with what you would enter the field - I'd be very interested in your thoughts
I was thinking this would be a possible opportunity to go Hounds horsemen and kerr-niggets, failing that march a huge slab of 'rauders against his pointy headed chops!
my BSB conversion seems ever closer to reality!
3 blocks of 50 marauders, with MoK/Great Weapons/Musican and standard = 876 points
One Chaos Sorcerer [no magic] with Dawnstone on a barded steed who runs around laughing = 121 points
Total cost = 997 points, the expression when he sees it = priceless.

I second the notion of Marauders until your arms get sore from assembling them all, but I'd want an Exalted Hero as my General.

I'd have some warriors and marauders, as I like them, sure the marauders could be better, but the warriors could cope well against any uber hordes or sword-masters. I don't have an aweful lot of experience against high elves though, especially without magic, so don't hang on anything I say.
I like knights as well, although again I feel marauders could be better.
So, take as many marauders as you have, then bulk it up with warriors, with an exalted hero (possibly on steed) for support/to chase after stuff.

I'm just going to play devil's advocate and say, don't count out the High elves in combat! they got access to some good high str attacks and with all the re-rolls they can give as good as they get. They might not out number us like many other armies do but when they boost their frontage they can dish out almost as many as we can, and with the re-rolls they tend to do just as much damage. That isn't to say they are godly, but if you think you are just going to walk thru them you have another thing coming. They won't be as good without their magic, but then again the cost for all those mages now goes into bolstering troops. . . ..
oh i'm not discounting them, after all I'm still impressed at how all five ranks of his spearmen managed to get a look in, and yes, that infernal re-roll misses is just dangerous. However, I was impressed at the slamming power that our simple marauders had against them, if I could replicate that with more ferocity theta would suit me just fine. Also, he'll have some good magic items and such, he's just adamant he doesn't need a spell caster to tear our army apart.
