I would cut the dogs to get a bigger unit of warriors, they seem pretty thin...

You could also try to get a full command for your units, its vital to CC resolution.

    Any armor on the Hero?

Chosen warriors are to expensive in a 1000 pts list at least. Also in a 2000 pts I wouldn't field them.

    Magic protection is not present.

Hounds are very useful, but in units of 5.
    asquabbling they squandered and gambled
till dawn did freeze their drunken dice

Chaos warriors are NOT too expensive for 1k. Their chaos's freaking basic infantry regiment. Other than that though your list is all over the place. It would be very hard to form a battleplan using those units that worked well. Better to have multiples of the same good unit that taking 1 of each unit in the book

Better? I dumped the cavalry for some extra warriors and 12 furies to attack enemy magic an artillery.

What about CHOSEN Chaos Warriors with extra hand weapons and shield though?

I would drop Chosen status and additional hand weapons of Warrior unit, freeing up 99 points. I would further replace the Berserker Sword with a great weapon, freeing up a further 36 points. Add standard to Marauders for 10 points.

You now have 149 points to work with. Use that to address your weaknesses: magic and ranged combat.

    Magic:
You want to stay undivided, I assume, but you could add a Aspiring Champion of Tzeentch for 150 points. If you put this one in your unit of Marauders, you could drop one Marauder and use the 7 points that frees up to give your new champion a great weapon/halberd and shield. This doesn't give you much magical power, but if you get lucky, you draw at least one of the low-cost spells (Orange Fire, Yellow Fire) and pick Red Fire as your second spell. You'll be able to get 2 spells off per phase and you'll be able to use the 3 dispel dice to reliably dispel your opponent's best spell. You also give your Marauder unit some real fighting power.

    Ranged combat:
The 149 points could also buy you a pack of 8 Furies for 120 points. Use these to go after your opponent's warmachines and perhaps after his lone mages. If you can free up 4 more points somewhere, you can buy yourself those additional hand weapons for your Warriors back.

    EDIT:
    D'oh. Didn't catch update before I posted.

I'd drop the 12 Furies down to 8, and use the 56* points that frees up to buy yourself some value.

Definitely get some shields for your infantry Aspiring Champions. +2 AS in cc for 2 points is a steal! Get two for 4 points.

I assume that you plan on using your Marauders as cannon fodder/support units. I would still buy the Standard and Musician package for both, just to give yourself some more flexibility. Cost? 30 points.

That leaves 22. I might use 8 of those points to purchase the Enchanted Shield for the Aspiring Champion that is to be the general. Personally though, I'd remove all the additional hand weapons. That gives me 88 points to work with.

You could spend 70 points to upgrade your non-general champion to Tzeentch (for magic).

Or you could get some 'cavalry' back by buying Warhounds again. Useful for marchblocking, flanking, cannon fodder, etc. You'll need to buy yourself some time to allow your infantry to march across the battlefield.

*56 because you were 4 points over 1,000 mark
