Hey i was thinking about starting a nurgle army since no one else does and i like the whole disease plague thing and they have pretty good magic to my understanding but i would like some veteran chaos players imput on nurgle and how i should run it
not a vet but what flavor nurgle mortal deamon beast?
This is probably going to be mostly mortal might have furies to take out artillary or maybe plauge bearers for the whole nurgle thing
Well, im not a veteran but...
Mortal Characters with the Mark of Nurgle benefit from an additional wound on their profile and cause fear. It's the second most expensive mark for characters, but a Chaos Lord of Nurgle will have W4, making it very hard to kill.
The Lore of Nurgle
The Lore of Nurgle, as far as I can see, as ive never actually used it, is based on hampering enemy capabilities. Favoured Poxes, for instance, lowers enemy WS, BS, S and Ld. Glistening Scabs reduces enemy character's toughness, making them easier to kill, especially if you don't have any great weapons handy. It must be great to see your enemies units slowly fall to a halt and become easy pickings for your warriors and knights.
With the Mark of Nurgle, your regiments start causing fear. You'll get charged a lot less, especially by the lower leadership armies such as Orcs and Goblins. Only Marauder, Marauder Horsemen and Warhounds won't cause fear, because they can't take marks. Makes your Chosen Knights even more expensive though, that mark.
I like the look of Nurglings, 4 Attacks, 4 Wounds, love the evil little models. Plaguebearers give you a ranged attack, Stream of Corruption. Breath Weapon, with a nice armour save modifier and ok Strength. Remember all your Daemons cause fear - your army is gonna be pretty scary!
Poisonous Spawn and Hellcannons! Woo!
Thats with a lil' check through my army book, but im sure the Nurgle Vets will start correcting me soon enough.
Hordes of Chaos Mortals (2000pt) - 1/1/0 (Win/Lose/Draw)
Daemonhunters (1500pt) - Coming Soon
The Plaguebearers' Stream of Corruption isn't the same as the Demonic Gift with the same name.
It's a melee based attack, that you can use instead of your normal attacks if you want to.
I'm no veteran though, so I can't help you. ;(
