Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have just gotten into WFB and I need help deciding which faction I should pick. I like Tzeentch's magickal ways but I also like the fast paced killings of the Slaanesh. I am leaning more toward Slaanesh becuase I can't find a way to implement a godo colour scheme to some horrors I recently pruchased. I see people paitnign them really bright but I want a dark and demonic army and can't implement a scheme to the horrors. I also don't liek the color scheme of Tzeentch altogether. I know it doesn't really matter about how they look but which of these races can be really simple but become really rewardign and complex. If you say Tzeentch could you tell me some schemes you have seen painted and give me soem ideas or maybe even some links. Thanks.
I am the annointed, I am the scourge of the World, you and your weakling armies shall die.
You can change the colour of tzeentch, i use the ahh dark green cant remember the name for my daemon army as i didnt like the brightness of everything , but then i also use rotting flesh and some other browns to highlight and paint my army, i would go tzeentch as they have really cool units and can have the [I]changer of ways.
"Fight like gobbos"- Skarsnik
There are a whole bunch of colour schemes here on Chaos Warriors; it might help.
Remember, you don't have to use the colour scheme that's in the book, maybe just tie it back with one of the colours, and try to avoid the "signature colour" of other demons (ie. No blood red and gold daemonettes)
I already have a Tzeentch army so I'd obviously tell you to go for them. Their magic power is superior to many other armies (mostly due to the outrageous amount of power dice that can be generated) and the Lore of Tzeentch can be very destructive. And of course there's the Daemons of Tzeentch, well specifically the Screamers! Awesome unit!
Now to Slaanesh;
Although some units in a Slaanesh army can be fast, most actually aren't. The warriors, marauders, knights, heroes, etc are all the same speed as everyone elses. Only the Daemons (Daemonettes & Mounts of Slaanesh) and Spawn of Slaanesh are any faster. On the plus side, the Mark of Slaanesh makes your warriors, knights and chariots immune to psychology.
"Peace, through superior firepower."
As long as your General is Undivided, other characters can have any Mark they wish
(You have to have a unit with the same Mark for each non-undivided character, though.
ie. you have an Undivided general, 2 Tzeentchian characters and a Slaaneshi Character
You have to have two Tzeetch units, like a unit of Screamers and a unit of Warriors of Tzeentch. You also would have to have a unit with the Mark of Slaanesh or a unit of Slaaneshi Daemons to have the Slaanehsi Character)
This allows you to take Slaaneshi mages and primarily Tzeentchian army, resulting in a huge amount of power dice with the Lore of Pain and Pleasure, which arguably is better than the Lore of Change.
But, in the end, it's your own decision whether to dedicate your army to one or both of the two Ruinous Powers...
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
